What kind of semi trucks exist in your world? 200mph is faster than train in the US. (which as you pointed out, could kill someone in these magical Volvos)
From my experience, there is not nearly as much knowledge about passports, non-DL forms of ID, or international travelers/visitors/aliens in the US as abroad. If you whipped out a passport in most bars in the US outside of an airport, they would probably give you a funny look and send you on your way drinkless.
The BB headquarters seems like they are compensating for something...
I work at another company HQ'd nearby with a much less impressive headquarters but a much better attitude toward customers.
It's just the developers doing what the players already were. EQ became the race to be the first to do or figure something out and publish it on the web. The casual gamer would simply read the guide or search the EQ encyclopedias.
I got that shirt too! No idea what happened to it... I wonder if it'd be worth anything these days :P
If I had mod points, this would be a +5 Insightful. Actually, I'd hack the system and make it a +10.
If The Party said we are at war with Eurasia then we were always at war with Eurasia and allied with Eastasia.
I know someone who took off the rest of this week from work to play. To each their own...
Mod points I lack, but you deserve.

My $1 scissors seem to work fine. Keep It Simple Stupid?
Picard the character is French, but Patrick Stewart the actor, is British. Tsk tsk. Minus 3 geek points.
If you hit an object that can withstand the force of the car impacting at 220 MPH and not move, yes.
The people with good eyes are able to play sports and fly fighter planes. That only leaves the rest of us to read books! ;)

Put down the Star Trek Technical Manual and step out of your mother's basement. ;)
I find AC more of a safety feature for quick defogging of the windows. Silly reason to pay to get it, I know.

Hopefully you commute on a train or bus!
You must have been waiting quite some time to find a post to use that one in.
Systematic?
Chase planes perhaps?
Apparently you'd rather be somewhere without oxygen as well.
They have articles???
If only I had some mod points.
Whoa, never thought I'd see Winona mentioned on Slashdot.
