You're right on so many levels it cannot be argued that you are "wrong". I think the thing I don't like about it is they are providing a forum that an average person would believe is supposed to be made of general opinion, and then they delete what is not in their interest. This is fine as you point out....sort of.

With that, it should be mandatory their content is labeled an advertisement like magazine articles that try and play like an article.

Personally, I don't use them much and even though many places provide them nicely as you pointed out, it appears they charge more for the pool they give you. In then end, when I have free min. on the weekends (and this is when I usually use a phone) I'd rather just talk if possible and maybe not send them a few more dollars for something I don't understand a valid purpose for.

What plan do you have? Text Messaging always costs a lot more than talking. Not to mention many plans have free weekend talking where as the text message will still cost way too much for using the exact same technology that simply has a branded name to trick consumers into paying more.

It does however provide a nice service if in a bar and want to let someone know where you are. Then again, you could always call them first but that's not always possible for various reasons.

Where I work I made sure this was not the case before hand. If I work on anything at home that is not related to what the company does, they don't get any of it. Everywhere I interviewed had the same "policy".

I've heard of people being in situations where anything they make at home becomes property of their work, but I don't think it is too common. Everyone I know that codes has an environment where they can do as they please on their own time and so long as the software doesn't compete directly with what their company does, it's ok.

Once oil goes over something like $100.00/barrel it becomes cost efficient to refine shale oil, which we have loads and loads of. Not to mention geological surveys that point to the Gulf of Mexico having more oil than the Saudis ever could dream of. It costs more to get at this oil, but as the cost/barrel rises, it become efficient to drill this and refine it. So in this regard, America is in fact in a great future position in regards to oil as a primary source of power. However, I would agree we should reduce our consumption if possible and seek other methods for generating power. Oil rising to a high price is probably the natural way to make people consume less.
