I like The Illustrated Brief History of Time more than the none illustrated version. I saw Elegant Universe on PBS and really liked the visuals. Mr. Greene - give us non-geniuses more visuals to help understand this stuff.
My first GUI. I still have fond memories of popping it open for the first time. There have been other GUI's since, but the first is always holds special memories.
For the amount of money that they cost, does anyone really need a personal video player? How often would the darn thing get used?
I love music, and listen to it all the time, from home, in the car, and at work. I like movies too, but I find rewatching a good much far less enjoyable than listening to a good album. For that, iPods rule.
Overall, I find less time to watch movies than listen to music. I would hardly ever find myself stuck somewhere, wanting to watch a movie on a PVP. I don't go to Grandma's house anymore, and I am not a kid stuck in the back see on the way to the Grand Canyon.
Well, since those are natural satellites, they would not have to conform to the definition of a planet. Satellites are simple celestial bodies that orbit a larger body. However, there have been arguments about Mar's moons, but it doesn't hurt this definition of a planet.
Any object the orbits a star that has enough mass, and therefore gravity, to become spherical. The moons of Mars for instance, are very much like asteroids caught in Mars' gravity. They do not, however have enough mass to become round. Most of the objects past Pluto probably are very small. Sedna's planet status should governed by it's shape.
Sure, we all agree that the claimed expense of $300,000 to run the website is very high.
However, we really cannot commit on this guy's actions, as the two articles presented are extremely contradictory.
The first one does lead to the impression of extortion, that he wanted a large amount of money to keep the site up.
The second one says that he simple wanted money to cover his future expenses, not past.
6 aparments per 2 sides per 4 floors = 48 apartmens. So a minimum of 48 people.
You said the were double rooms. Do you 2 bedroom apartments? Oh, so that brings the total people to 96.
How are you going to have enough bandwith to the internet to share with everything?? Plus, you said these were gamers!
It appears that only 1 minute after this story was posted to the masses, the site hosting the article has already been downed due to the Slashdot effect.
You darn wankers, you are like a virus that brings down unprepared sites on the web. I want to read the article, could the rest of you please stop for a few minutes? Thank you very much.
I do agree with the article, that this comparison can't be made well. I have never purchased a CD single, and don't know of many people that ever did. If CD singles were available for $.99, I would think that they would sell better.
Has anyone out there made money off there small, homegrown game? By this, I mean, has anyone asked for a small fee for a full version, or asked for donations to help keep development going? Does a fee or donations work better? Does anyone actually pay the fee or give donations? I have unemployed friends making games for fun, but who are wondering if they can get any money to further progress.
PINE is my favorite, cuz it's fast. But you are right about images, and html. Of course, the only html message I get are SPAM and e-zines.
Yo Rowan! What's up?
Gonna be at Potlatch? Bet your hair can't match mine!!

I didn't think it was possible, but clicking on the unsubscribe links on the SPAM that I get, has actually stopped most of it, and I have a fairly clean inbox. Now, whenever I check my email, I get disappointed to see no new messages. Maybe it was nice to have SPAM keeping me company.
MCD couldn't patent the drive thru because supposedly In-n-Out already did it. So did they patent the 2 window drive thru process? Do any of Jack-In-The-Box, Burger King, Wendy's, etc. have a drive thru process that has more than 1 window? I can't remember, been awhile since I ate fast food.
I got an email from the RIAA stating:
All your MP3's are belong to us!

Holy smokes! Even the Google cache has been slashdotted!

I know, I know, I hate those f***ers who do that FP s**t. But I had to do it.
FP??

By the way, I'd estimate 3-4 WAP @ $100 plus money for cabling = $500-600.

Don't you know how expensive a good "frickin laser" is? Ask Dr. Evil.
Has anyone made money from getting donations, or by charging a small $5-10 fee for the homemade game?

I agree. Let's send all the boy bands into space.
