  3. hi on Fighting the Scourge of Gaming Addiction · · Score: 1

by addiction we are talking about it causing problems. who cares if you like and want to do something a lot, as long as it doesn't cause problems. it does not cause me problems to play my favorite games now and then... or even to buy a game system with several games and play them with my friends. i can say that it is possible for it to be a problem for some though. but I think there are deeper problems behind that which cause these people to rely on games and personal entertainment so they don't have to deal with the conflicts of other people and daily life. THAT is a problem.... but I don't think the word addiction is suiting... I think antisocial behavior and fear of human interaction are the real culprits.

It'd make life easier if you could upload effects straight to the guitar/mic instead of having to run it through an effects box too.

the problem being 1. 99% of effects box's in existance cannot be uploaded to (you cannot upload new algorithms) 2. the few that can have proprietary formats that only the company that made it can use to create new algorithms (i.e. the Johnson J-Station)... 3. the few that allow algorithm creation are like $3,000 US (i.e. Eventide.).

conclusion: the creation of a guitar you could upload effects algorithms to is unlikely.

    !" I say, "whoop-de-friggin-do!" I've got a PC that whoops the Xbox..

The PC does not have many console style games... as far as I've seen. take, for instance, Dead or Alive 3 that's coming out on Xbox... you're not likely to see that on the PC. Also, in order to get Xbox like performance on your PC you have to have a Geforce 3 or the like... pretty pricey if you don't already have one, and in my opinion that may justify the cost of buying a game console. I think that more quality games are made for consoles and often times they are more stable.

to me, the games for the Xbox are much more exciting than the games for gamecube. maybe it's because I'm primarily a PC gamer and not a console gamer... and games like Halo and Oddworld are PC like games. I really want to have an Xbox. But price might convince me to by another system, PS2 or Gamecube. PS2 if the price goes down enough after release of these two new consoles.

I made some clam chowder and left it on the stove for a day. Shortly after eating it, a mysteriouse stomache ache began! What was I to do? A rumble arose from the deepest depths of my belly. I knew I had to do something quickly. I ran to the toilet to try and puke up whatever monster had enpregnated me, but stopped.... I saw.... THE PLUNGER! quickly I stuck the plunger to my face and began to clear the intricate plumbing of my inner cavities. To my surprise, up came my clam chowder in the exact same condition it went down. This was when I realized this was no monster.... this was an eternally renewable food supply.
