You can't convince them there are no ghosts. But you might be able to convince them to be more skeptical. Set up some fake ghost stuff & prank them with it.
Play some creepy words backwards that is only audible when you mess with the sound tape. Play some ultra sound. Shove some dry ice under the floor boards. Make them look like chumps.
I would be curious to see this challenged in the case of a single person with a single machine. The efforts of a single individual is not enough to take down a server. In fact, odds are they don't have proof that any of the packets the individual sent even reached the server in question or had any effect on it.
we'll talk again next time you get playful with your significant other in a secluded, but public, spot. or in your living room without the drapes drawn.
Still the fault of the individual. If you don't want to be seen, don't do it in a publicly visible space.

The only way to escape the circle of injustice, just understand: no means no.
It usually helps if the woman actually says no instead of bitching about it later after she discovers he has slept with another woman.
Yeah that's it they're concerned about collateral damage... damned morals will get you every time!
The masses don't have to have morals. Just the individuals in that mass who have the knowledge need to have enough intelligence to know that it might not be such a good idea.
Successful boycotts are incredibly difficult to pull off. You need to have a large mass of highly dedicated, might motivated well organized people to do it. Since Anonymous is highly decentralized, I don't think they would have the chops to do it. VISA & Mastercard pretty much control the international credit card market. Some areas just do not have alternatives. You can't ask people to give up, what they don't control.
A well mannered articulate child is remembered forever.
Not really. The internet is full of intelligent & articulate people that few people ever bother listening to. You need to PR and some splash to even be seen. By all means, you are right that there should be a better way. The problem is coming up with one.
Well slashdot could pass out special mod votes that can only be used on -1 or 0 level comments. That could encourage some people to make the effort to read through them and bump up the unfairly punished comments.
This sounds more dangerous. I don't want information feed to me by like minded people that tends to already agree with my world view and perspective. I need to have my ideas challenged. And quit frankly groups that isolate their news sources and opinions scare me. Circlejerks & feedback loops lead to extreme views. Look at how badly it affects groups like the Westboro Baptist Church, Tea Partiers, Libertarians, Feminists. Heck, even Republicans & Democrats are susceptible to this.
Everyone loves gmail & google apps. But it came out early on that google had no respect for people's privacy. I've avoided every on-line product of theirs besides google search & earth.
I found an interesting article on someone tracking down some botnet masters by contacting a few of the infected users, getting a copy of the trojan and running it in a sandbox.
What makes you a "supporter" ?
Only a dirty Commie would ask a question like that. Who are your friends?

WH says DDOS is not a crime
I don't see that in either you quote or in the article.
People who have plead guilty to DDOS attacks have done so under this law:
Specifically 18 U.S.C. 1030 (a) (5) (A) (i), (B) (i).

If only they had a few more dream sequences where everything that happened turned out to be fake, the show would have succeeded.
Now what happens if you hire some PR firm to write a press release for your group? Is the person who published your press release guilty of a crime?
The irony is that it was OpenOffice.org that ratted him out.
Check out the austerity measure riots going on.

I don't see them having time to mess with this kid.

But the collateral damage would be too high and piss off far too many other people. Plus it they would have to use a different tool.

All I knew was that is was called Google Wave, was being hyped and I needed an invite to use it.
Why should it be a big surprise this thing never got wide spread adoption?
Just look at the movie industry to see how it has worked out.
So you are proposing that maybe the creationists are correct.
Since when did the European Union become it's own country?
And now Sweden is comparable to a US state like Delaware? These are entire countries, not states or provinces.
Great. So much for heading for the tundra when the zombie outbreak happens. Cold resistant zombies are the last thing we need.
