It takes a bit of doing, as you need to sign up from an IP from a country where Spotify is available. You can either try to find a free proxy, or sign up for the piratebay guys anon VPN service (swedish IP) or some other service.
After signup, you can get the premium.
What is the point of these searches?
Anyone with a hint of intelligence, who are planning on doing something illegal, would just upload whatever illegal material they're carrying, and wipe the disk. Then they can just download it from the net once they've passed customs.
Actually, lots of people gets paid for making speaches. If making a podcast takes up your whole workingday, is it too much ask for a few bucks to make a living?
according to this, 54 results was discarded because they ranked the reference file, instead of the encoded file. If flac was to be included in such a test, I'm sure it would have won, but im also sure it wouldn't have scored a perfect 5, even if it should have.
mpc is opensource and is presumably patentfree too(the old patents covering its technology has expired). MPC also won the last 128kbs test (or was one of the winners)
You're very wrong. You rate a sample against an original reference file. If you have crappy speakers(use headphones) you will not hear the difference between the compressed file, and the reference file, so you will rate it as "transparent". The better your equipment is, and the better your ears are, the 'better' result you will get. You're right that the absolutely best way to do this kind of tests are in a controlled environment, but these web based tests are also good. development of lame's alt-preset standard was done using this kind of ABX testing, with input from various people around the world
No one that I've seen has mentioned the new kanji fonts. You all complain that it'll cost "$150 for WMP in Linux", but thats not true. You get more than just Windows Media support. I'm really excited about the new fonts. Kanji fonts in linux has really sucked up until now. And japanese IME(input message editor) too. Hope the new Turbolinux has a good sollution for that. Or else I'll stick to Windows 2000, which has a superb IME.
Yeah, I really love the books. I've just started on Green Mars(the 2nd book) now, and I am about 150 pages into it.
I really look forward to this series... Hope it'll turn out as good as the books. Too bad we don't have SciFi channel here in norway, so I'll have to find another way to see it

Two or three fairly new people could ambush and kill a 7xGM if they played their cards right.
Say that to my Corp Por, In Vas Flam combo!

Well, I could try... I know the "russian" up in the left corner means "russian" and the "english" next to it means "english"...
1) Let the local library lend out your free software
2) have people install it on their computers
3) ???
4) Profit!
i guess #3 would be "use keylogger incorporated in free software to steal creditcard info" or something
They've also set up gmail.google.com
Applied it earlier today... My system is still running :) haven't noticed any differences yet.
So what? Everyone should have a valid license, if you own win2k ;) Else, you can get it here anyway
Bend it twice to lock it.. just like cellphones :)
