Actually, breaking your arm arm wrestling is not an uncommon injury. About 4 years ago I was arm wrestling (with another person, not a machine) and someone pushed me from behind. This caused a bad torque on my arm causing a spiral fracture. I needed surgery and many days in the hospital to recover from this. To this day I have a several screws and a metal rod in my arm. When I was in the hospital the doctors told me that actually breaking your upper arm is not an uncommon injury with arm wrestling. So I'm absolutely not surprised that this machine is causing injuries.
Yay - now there's no reason not to switch to a mac! I have a question though - how is this port affected by the switch to intel based macs? (which as far as I can tell are happening on the same timeline as civ4 availability)
I did my undergraduate (in Comp. Sci.) at Carnegie Mellon, and now I am doing my graduate studies at Cornell. Carnegie Mellon most assuredly was much more wired than Cornell. I took at a look at Carnegie Mellon's 'survey' and they got some things blatantly wrong (at least as I remember it):
The following should be marked yes I think!
Does the school provide Web pages?
Does the school offer classes online? (indirectly - see icarnegie.com)
Is a computer ethics policy in place for the school? (there is)
Do students have access to Usenet newsgroups? (of course it does)
Does the school offer courses in emerging technologies? (they do in my opinion)
The following questoins i think are very suspect:
Are students required to own a computer?
Depends who - some people in certain curricula are required at CMU, however why on earth should every student be required a computer?! The school provides many clusters that are open 24-7 where students can work if they need to.
Does tuition include a computer?
Why on earth should it? I don't want my school wasting tuition money on a computer for me, I want to decide myself what kind of computer I have and what I put on it (Linux or Windows for example).
Does the school provide multimedia equipment?
Same as above
While it is true that the free account has a capacity of 10Gb the pay one actually does have a 100Gb capacity as noted on their page:

Yes I aggree that the site does have a rather awful design.

Also check out the scipy and matplotlib python modules. In my experience they are infinitely better than matlab (or octave).
Mod parent up - if you take the life expectancy of Nobel prize winners then you are doing a form of post selection.
Mathematica for Mac OS X is universal.
Does anyone know about the intel compiler for the apples? Specifically is it going to be free for non-commercial use as it is for linux?

Simpsons already did it.
