What you have stated is literally totally incorrect, at this stage it is totally impossible to get 'an', 'Apple', 'TV', all you can get is an appliance called AppleTV which is not actually a TV just a very expensive compact computer being marketed as a TV, you still actually have to buy a TV and when you combined the two together, what you end up with is a very very expensive TV with very limited features. A actual Android big screen TV makes a whole lot more sense and you can install what soft ware you want on in and hugely limit it's invasion of your privacy by running the appropriate security software. They might as well be branding it as AppleIdiotBOX. C'mon Apple make the big SJobs move, where is the Big Screen 75" Apple TV with optional iPad remotes (plural it counts and you can waffle on about and patent rounded corners on another device, ;D ). A you want stackable accessories, hard drive, DVD burner, Modem/Router/Firewall and extra processing power for games.

Beware the cost demons of packaging, shipping, transport, retail and delivery. Small is cheap to get from the producer to the end user. Small consumes far less resources all along the way, so the last remaining cost difference is not production costs but the completely artificial impost of patent costs. So basically governments of the world are conspiring to burn it to the ground in order to pump up patent profits. So the possibility here is, the NSA has back doored it all already and are just using a misinformation campaign via the FBI and the courts to trick criminals into using it. The main reason why these kind of easy hacks need to be forbidden by law is they do not actually tie the communications to the individual but just a network address that could originate anywhere. So legally direct hacking of the devices prior to encryption of the communications to ensure the correct device and user are traced, should be a requirement. How they arrange that, well, it should be difficult and require real effort and expense and only be done where there is a 'REAL' pressing need and not because some douche bag out of control law en-FORCE-ment type wants to stalk someone for what ever personal reason. The invasion of the privacy of individuals should be difficult and very expensive to ensure it is not abused by anyone private or government.
However mac address assignment is mostly random and only needs to be unique to that ip address and internal network. So you can have multiple devices with the same mac address and based upon the violent way law en-FORCE-ment responds, not really OK to start face planting people to the pavement and jumping on the backs and then kidnapping them and throwing them into a cell after sexually molesting them and then with a whoops tee hee and then letting them go. When arrest and the prosecutorial method become a far worse punishment than say a fine, you need to start rethinking the whole justice process.
It is not question of whether hard copies will be eliminated but how quickly it is finally reducing instead of a period when dot matrix printers first kicked in. One of the big wastes of paper was proof reading. Like many others I found proof reading on the screen inefficient and unreliable and needed to do it off a hard copy for any degree of accuracy, likely because of cathode ray tube displays and the visual problems they cause and this carried over into a habit even with LCD screens. I wonder how well the up and coming generation is going with proof reading on the screen rather than requiring a hard copy to check (think just there a nominal 50% reduction in paper use).
Copyright infringement is not really, not morally a crime, just contractual infringement based upon a very questionable law. However, crime was the individuals choice and the likelihood is, if streaming content and promoting the worst likely products was not available, alternate criminal activity would have been undertaken. The question is though, what kind of bandwidth did the individual have to make those numbers real, bandwidth going to his bedroom presumably in a residential area. How accurate was the number of streams and was it hugely inflated. So did they actually measure them all or did they just do statistical non evidenciary bullshit, so you should only get convicted for the crimes you did do and not the crimes you might have done. So I would have to call bullshit 12 million movies streamed.
