2. Get really pissed of because the movie is no where near as good as the endless bull shit advertising claims it is.
3. Get further annoyed when you can't get a refund for content that doesn't match up to the advertising (that they will lie to you and, cheat on reviews is normal expected business practice).
4. Watch the "hurt Locker" upon any other format or you nuts or just a glutton for punishment.
The big reason why people that produce some of the crappiest content are so hot on downloading. That first run of sales immediately after the bullshit advertising stream, is the peak sales period, immediately after that the reality of the crap they produced cripples any further sales.
I have to be honest, before I watch any content at a cinema I will watch a stream and if it is good enough I will go to the cinema for the big screen experience (in off peak times). No stream absolutely no cinema, I have been lied to far to often and in point of fact by far the majority of time like a 10 to 1 ratio lies about the quality of content versus the truth.
For people who go to a cinema without checking a stream first and get annoyed when they paid good money for band content that doesn't live up to the advertising, this saying comes to mind, "fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me", content producers lie nearly all of the fucking time about everything, these people can not be trusted with anything, hell, they even take pride in the quality and effectiveness of their lies.
To ensure it is all put in perspective and fit to reality. Downloads limits have absolutely nothing to ensure people can access the bandwidth they are paying for. It is just one huge lie in order to drive up prices via collusion between the major ISPs, the incumbent telecoms.
For once and for all, bandwidth caps will have zero impact on the peak load times. Those peak load times are purely driven by people attempting to access chronically over sold bandwidth at the same time and have absolutely nothing to do with the total downloads over a month. Point of fact peak down loaders will download by far the bulk of their data in off peak times, simple logical common sense.
The reason you internet connection turns to crap when you get home and try to use it, is because everybody else is trying to use it at the same time, total downloads over a month hand nothing to do with traffic congestion at peak times. Putting data limits in has much more to do with competitively crippling digital sales distribution companies. Want to sell your own music direct to your customers, well you not going to do it with out paying an ISP tax at anywhere between 20 and 100 percent ie either sell through the telecom and pay them or go out of business (it doesn't matter whether you get your customers to off peak or even try to torrent, the incumbents will kill your business by screwing over potential customers).
Truth in bandwidth sales should be forced upon the ISP's, if you advertise bandwidth that is what you should be capable of providing at peak times and should not be based on maximum potential localised bandwidth no matter how it is crippled by the reality at regional, national and international levels.
You think way to small. I would really appreciate a 100" tablet screen, the bigger the better. The first thing I though of when I read "How Google Can Make Android Truly Tablet-Worthy" is forget little pokey 10" screens focus on the big screen. This could lead to another potential business, big screens located at every kind of recreational venue that you can log into with your portable device to temporarily up you screen real estate for a far more readable display and o access a wider variety of wired services and you could blue tooth the sound to your head set.
Via the proposed OFCOM list on one hand we have people suspected of infringing copyright and on the other hand we have proof of ISPs monitoring, recording and invading the privacy of citizen upon a nationwide scale. That diseased myopic organisation is proposing that private corporations have the right to monitor and record every action of their customers. What next those tin foil hatters, cameras and microphones in cable TV boxes to monitor people in their homes, compulsory mobile phones that cannot be turned off and can be activated by OFCOM memebers to monitor suspect activity.
There is absolutely no way an ISP should be aware of what a customer is doing on the internet, it is none of their fucking business. They provide a service, the transmission of data at the defined bandwidth via interconnected services. It is not their place to intercept record and, monitor private communications of their customers.
That POS http://www.ofcom.org.uk/ organisation is proposing the trappings of a totalitarian corporate state, where corporate masters will monitor all your and your families digital communications for anything "THEY" deem to be infringing upon their profit and control humanity. I find it disgusting to see how readily greedy socipaths will sell away the freedoms and rights of their fellow citizens and even their future descendent all to line their own pockets and feed their ego today, basically an ideology of fuck the future I want more now, now, now.
M$ problems can best be summed up by two words and everything that goes with them "IBM Compatible". It defined PC hardware and allowed an OS that could function on an "open platform" that didn't lock out manufacturers to get ahead. Yours is the fallacy of techno-perfection and, yet again and again the opposite is proven true. The more complex the system. the more likely and more often it will fail. Overreaching databases can quite readily be disabled by poisoning them with false data which disrupts data mining by contaminating patterns and creating false connections.
So topping them is difficult but rendering the efforts ineffectual is not that difficult, especially with number against them ie. if every person using the internet feeds false data into the internet, you can data mine it till the cows come how but all you will still end up with nothing. Computer are great a generating output in fact you home PC is quite readily capable of spewing out false data at thousands of times the rate you produce responses hopelessly burying your true responses under the mountain of random outputs.
A example of error in your thinking would be a comparison of Canada and Australia versus the US. One is hotter and the other is colder than the US but both are more socially advanced with lower crime rates and a more effective social welfare net.
It is a generational thing. Each succeeding generation either tilts social development one way or the other and it does take generations to either work to a less stressful more socially aware society were people try to work together or to a more violent reactive society where people try to prey upon each other.
So over the last 30 years the US was going the Mexican route rather than the Canadian route. They are trying to work back to the Canadian route but there is an enormous amount of resistance from the psychopathic exploiters in US society.
For example in the US whilst the lie is always claimed that "less lethal" weapons are used in lieu of a firearm, it is quite apparent that they are used as punishment devices to inflect pain, suffering and humiliation not on those that break the law but upon those that refuse to obey the often illegal instructions of a law enforcement officer rather than a law upholding officer. That use of violence and torture is often publicly cheered rather than being reviled in US society and as such is a generational measure of the acceptance of violence in that society. Although in that case is seems to be a product of the bias in right wing owned and controlled mass media especially pronounced when http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fairness_Doctrine was cancelled resulting in the grossly unfair and mentally unbalanced Fox News network as a prime example of the corporate propaganda of sex, violence and the rule and worship of the rich.
There is a direct logical reason for the separation of church and state. The state or more specifically the laws that govern the state are to be interpreted literally and applied uniformly and equally. They are not written in parables and subject to the faith based interpretations of religious 'judges'.
Whilst there is no problem in religion being involved in the discussion of the implementation of new laws, it has no place in the interpretation of the law. If the law is not working as intended it should be discussed rewritten not reinterpreted on the fly according to the whims of a religious minister.
The government is the literal interpretation of the morals of a society, church is the philosophical and theological measure of the morals of a society. One is fixed and is meant only to be interpreted in the manner it is written, the other is a matter of faith and beliefs and is not fixed but is shifts back and forth subject the the religious interpretation of many different religious sects and further to the individual interpretations of countless ministers of religion.
The booms were designed to contain not protect. The closer to the source of the leak the more effectively you can 'contain' the out of control oil gushers. It is completely delusional to think that thousands of kilometres of coast can be protected by booms, wind, wave and tidal motions will make that fail every time.
Right now you are just looking at a big bullshit publicity stunt, one designed to attack the government to failing to achieve the impossible and the other the corporate one, they created the leak but the government failed to limit the damage they created so it is not their fault any more.
There is only one place to block the pollution being poured into the gulf and that is at it's source anything is a bullshit politicising and a lie. No matter what there was only ever enough equipment to contain it at it's source (surface spills only) beyond that, profits first last and everything and deregulation promotes profits whilst regulation increases costs.
The horse has bolted, the mirror has been broken, the oil rig blew up as a result of greed driven mismanagement, either contain the flow at it's source or suffer the consequences and forget that sand shifting crap of building a new coastline in front of the old coastline to protect the old coastline from the oil flow and then digging up that new contaminated coast line that my miracle has been washed away by wind and surf and dumping 'er' into outer space (the republican solution).
For those who are more aware of the consequences to ignore their knowledge and allow others to fall victim to those who would exploit them, makes them nearly but not quite as bad as the exploiters. The exploiters who make use of their knowledge and the lack of understanding of the less intellectually abled in order to deceive and exploit them, well tough, the karmic reward I (and of course many, many others) feel I gain from working to disrupt greed and deceit more than makes up for the presumed deflation of bloated ego the exploiters suffer when they can no longer prey upon the ignorance of others.
There is more fun in working for the overall balance of a better, healthier and happier society then endless quest for exclusivity, having moving and forcing less upon others. Just as mature adults protect minors from exploitation by deviants, so the more intellectual aware should protect the less knowledgeable from exploitation by misanthropes and, psychopaths ie. the insatiably greedy (in the case your typical data mining corporate executive privacy invasive deviant).
This securities fraud investigation still does make you stop and think about how these social networks could be used to data mine the employees of companies to gain early financial knowledge about a company to effectively engage in insider trading.
Not just Facebook, but M$, Google, MySpace et at, all of them could likely make a killing in investments by data mining company information, especially when you start looking at cloud services. Billions of dollars can be up for grabs in insider trading a temptation that your typical corporate executive will find impossible to resist.
The FCC in wanting to secure internet data traffic and prevent monitoring and filtering by carriers especially considering VOIP could be a step ahead of the SEC in preventing telecoms and ISPs from data mining their customers for an enormous investment advantage. I am wandering if the incumbents do not also have this in mind when they are so actively fighting against net neutrality. Ahh, sociopath corporate executives you can't live with them and you can't live without, oh wait, everyone can actually live much better without them.
Meh, as long as most of the code involved has it's roots in open source and all of the protocols are made public, who cares. A couple of quick forks and you are free of the googlites but can still interact with their services when "you choose" to do so.
Personally there is a lot of convenience to look forward too in having an android, smartphone, smartbook and smart TV, to shift about and share content, to control each device from other connected devices. Of course interconnected microphones and cameras all over the place where ever you go, can be of real security concern and is something Google will have to 'monitor'( heh, heh) or at least something the FOSS community will have to pay attention too.
This foray into robotics for M$ is likely to be a failure as well. The best way to advance robotics is to work it from a different angle, animation. Low cost animation will be driven by virtual robotics, creating virtual environments (takes the hassle out of interpreting complex real environments and parks it as a future problem) and in virtual robot actor who will then automatically interact based upon a script.
Creating that software coding interaction in more complex environments (whilst avoiding the need to analyse real ones) for a wider range of complex interactions, including voice (listening would be virtual) and, facial animation and complex actions with virtual artefacts.
The big advantage is developing that robot software coding in animation, is that it can bring in a lot of income earlier in the robotic development process and of course avoids expensive robotic production facilities. Billions of dollars can flow through that part robotics development because of the scope to sell all the content produced for film, TV and of course internet streaming. The better the software coding for virtual robotics the lower the cost of CG animation based upon it.
There are better alternatives. First alternative work hard at undermining the popularity of the social networking site that hhad all you data, mined all your associations and monitored all your clicks. Do a good enough job and the revenue drops squeezing down hard on the costs of hoarding all that private data, eventually shutting them down, of course all that data then gets sold at the bankruptcy auction forcing you to repeat the exercise until companies decide all that privacy invasion ain't really all that profitable.
Second alternative, seek changes to the law, force stricter privacy requirements, what information companies can keep on private individuals, stricter protections for minors, deletion of information requirements, data correction requirements, data mining restrictions and, random privacy audits with criminal penalties for invasions of privacy.
I personally prefer the regulation and prosecution route, although I can protect my privacy as much as I choose to, I am still concerned about the current younger generation getting caught out with long term psycho analysis, known marketing vulnerabilities, known subconscious triggers and permanent limitations upon future career opportunities.
Don't be ageist a twelve inch netbook over a 10 inch netbook provides 20 percent easier readability and in the case for many older geeks it is not so much a matter of choice but of necessity. What ever happened to that quick injection that was going to regain lens flexibility and ultra portability back "in reach" (arm length joke for those in the know) of the visually aged.
The basis for religious morality is the same as it always has been. The person who publicly espouses and promotes the idea of religiosity also tends to want to become the intercessor between the general populace and the deity espoused by their religion. They of course do not do this for free but request donations from the many to support their own chosen life style. Their need to protect the illusion of that chosen life style which tends to make them vindictive against people who threaten it, non-believers.
Beyond that, religion is then used in politics by many deceitful politicians throughout the ages to emphasise the unique specialness, as being selected by the deity or being called to power by the deity, all of course to promote their own selfish greed, oddly enough most religions point out the evilness of politicians that do this but that rather unique shamelessness of those politicians always them to publicly flaunt that deceit until they are eventually caught out for being the hypocrites they always truly are.
Of course in the case of religious inspired hatred there are always those individuals who seek power by creating and feeding the hatred of violent mobs for what ever fanciful reason they can come up with. They often, if fact nearly always loose control of those violent hateful mobs but that doesn't stop them trying to use the violence of the mob to enforce their own desire for wealth and power (the Saudi monarchy and the Wahhabi's).
Now that we have major cities at fixed locations, wasting time about idle thoughts of life continues regardless of major changes in climatic conditions. Life certainly continues but not in status quo, changes in environmental conditions always advantage some species and disadvantage other species, even resulting in extinction of some species dependent upon conditions.
As a result of the fixed location of things like, cities and agriculture we are forced into a position of endeavouring to stabilise the climate as much as possible of face horrendous calamities like flooded and destroyed cities and, famines from altered drought and flooding patterns destroying agriculture.
Obviously any pollution, "ANY POLLUTION", that is created in the generation of exclusive luxuries for the minority instead of necessities for the majority should be taxed at punitive rates. For example the carbon generated in hauling fruit and vegetables from the farm to the market should be taxed at a completely different rate than the carbon generated by hauling some pseudo celebrity across a country in a private jet. Just as the carbon generated at a power station to provide the energy for fuel efficient electric car should be taxed differently to the fuel being wantonly burned in an oversized SUV or a super car. So taxing the necessities of life like food and water and substantially different rates to the wasteful luxuries like jewellery and make up.
Lets start with the natural oil leakage bull shit PR. BP's greed driven failure and, mismanagement, that resulted oil well disaster is not in lieu of natural leakage it is in addition to natural leakage. The natural seeps is for the whole of the gulf not a just one fucking location. The natural seeps occur at steady slow rates and have developed a localised ecosystem capable of handling it. The natural seeps pass through many layers of interleaving materials, allowing various molecular, mechanical and biological reactions to occur to the oil to alter the nature of the product produce at the seep. Any time corporation funded scientists start talking about numbers varying from say 10 to 100 or there abouts, you get bet your bottom dollar the the about is for the 10 say 5 to 10 and no where near the 100 (unless you consider an error rates of a factor of 10 scientifically acceptable).
There are many solutions they could have tried. Like placing a large sheet of geotextile fabric over the well (several thousand square meters), weighted at the perimeter to simply catch the buoyant oil and allow the methane hydrate crystals to settle out, with a large bore tube of fabric rising to the surface, with floatation devices dispersed along it length to support it's weight. In fact if bearings at provide at the flotation points the new drill pipe could pass down the tube as long as at the surface turbulent zone a large bore pipe surrounding the drill pipe was used to provide the connection at a level bellow most of the surface turbulence for the flexible fabric riser tube. Now add a take off point from the rigid pipe to a flexible storage bladder and you have a permanent solution for blow out protection.
Catch with that is, it will really blow up in their face. In dealing direct with governments, rather than in an open forum, the governments in question will no longer know if they get the same information at the same time. Obviously M$ would be in a perfect position to give different governments different information about specific security risks and vulnerabilities. No government will be able to corroborate that the same information was given to each government involved in the security risks and vulnerabilities or dare we say espionage and counter espionage 'er' software features.
Of course competitors can also rightfully complain, as a new government branch would need to be set up to create a joint office with M$ for M$ products to the exclusion of all other products. So M$ is working to force another lock in, government staff only trained to deal with M$ product lines along M$ software security communications lines.
Meh, stupid is as stupid does, there are real definitive reasons why product fault information is given to all customers at the same time, least of which is the spy vs spy crap, there are also competitive advantage disputes, purposeful misinformation and withholding of information to damage competitors and of course from M$ the inevitable product marketing lies about the number of, the nature of and, the age of all to frequent faults.
Think about more from the sellers point of view. All new singing and dancing smartbook with dockable smartphone, for one low initial payment together with a whole lot of expensive and highly profitable phone contract payments (I wasn't about to lie about that part). From the typical users perspective, they know it will work, no weird compatibility problems and it really is logically useful. The smartbook as a charging, long term data storage, easy data input and upload, large screen expansion device, all working pretty much 'automagically' from the typical user perspective.
Similar lifespan, similar price, similar durability, basically all aligning with the 18/24 month phone contract. Of course you can readily imagine the typical 'ugh' fashion statement commercials, the smartpurse, the trend setter, the matching look and upping the intellectual factor of a gossip device, the phone. Plus it avoids the whole keyboard problem associated with smartphones.
Of course if you want to look at it that way, how about if you are using a cell phone, while standing underneath major power lines, close to an airport radar, just up the street from a police officer using a radar gun pointed in your general direction, standing along side ten other people also making a cell phone calls, just after having a x-ray taken and all of this while close to a cell phone tower, hmm, your likely to be pretty much fucked if you do that to often.
The whole problem is cell phone usage is not happening in a vacuum, all these other contributing factors are there and they are real and they have to be taken into account.
By frying you brain with your cell phone you are adding to your risk because it is impossible to isolate yourself from all the other risks. Just as for example you don't use your cell phone on your own, every other users in that cell is also using their phone adding to the background radiation level.
So genetics, total radiation exposures (not just cell phones), duration of exposures, maximum intensity of combinant exposures and, most importantly age at which exposure commenced, all define your risk of suffering a lethal or significantly debilitating cancer. So the reality is focus upon your risks and fuck corporate advertising and profits, when you decide how many more risks you will take and how much more unhealthy behaviour you will or allow others to combine into your life or possible lack there of.
It still should be left up to the most appropriate agency in the first instance for money laundering. In this case the IRS, when the funds are put through the account they are income and should be taxed as such, it is up to the mule to prove the 'tax deductible payment' to the fraud. So either they pay tax on the full amount, get prosecuted and penalised for not paying tax or act as a witness for the other agency, in this case the FBI.
The tax bill for the mule's part in money laundering is likely to be far higher than a fine and the penalty for tax evasion is also likely to be worse than the penalty for being a money laundering mule. Giving the mule every possible incentive to work with authorities to catch the actual perpetrators of the crime.
Wrong is not wrong by accident in this case, the whole pollution denial deceit is wrong on purpose. Mass media is paid for by it's advertisers, and as modern mass media is now run by sociopaths and manned by narcissists (not all but the majority) they are quite content to say anything their advertisers pay them to say. There is absolutely no value given to truth or the harm the lies will cause, simply how much more profit and power the sociopaths and narcissists can gain today.
Mass media monitors and data mines the public reactions to the lies told and continually adjusts those lies to manipulate the audience to suit the profitability goals of the corporate executives (this quarters bonus) of their advertising corporations. Advertising as 'commentary' and 'news' freed from liabilities for deceit and fraud has created the current 'climate' denial of science, decisions from the gut, verbal personal attacks rather than discussion of science and, the same lies repeated over and over again no matter how many times they are proven wrong.
This has been going on for quite some time and it is the internet that is making it far more obvious, not long ago mass media was getting away with it no problem at all, now they are losing and are becoming much more strident, loud and aggressive in their failing efforts to maintain control of the public consciousness. Those sociopaths and narcissists now feel themselves under threat, the ability to manipulate and prey upon the rest of society is threatened and they are attacking all those that threaten their privilege and exclusivity of existence.
If your going down that line your might as well go with the whole user pays principle. A tax on all patent licence fees, say 5 percent or more of all patent revenues goes back to the patent office. The patent office provides validation and protection for those patents, so those patents can generate an income, so patent holders should pay the full cost of protecting those patents.
This would really be fair, especially for those people who want to protect ideas for 'free' use and distribution, they are making no money on licence fees, as such they should not pay any patent fees as the taxpaying public saves money by not having to pay patent fees on those products. So low public cost patents pay low patent fees and high cost extortionate patents pay high patent fees.
So reduce the backlog by expanding the size of the patent office with the additional functioning so that they are more readily able to process all those applications. In patent cross licensing schemes, those patents can be accessed for the value by the say the IRS for their value so that the appropriate tax fees can be charged.
End result, hopefully a lot more open patents (free to make use of and add too as long as you don't charge licence fees for your part) would become available and save everyone a lot of money, it is far wiser to save money than create artificial profitability for the few at the expense of the many.
At least you admit it was his crop planted from his seeds (which had been contaminated by pollen from the neighbouring property). At not time was it claimed that the crop was based upon using patented Monsanto seed.
Technically speaking, in Monsanto failure to control the distribution of pollen from it's product it was freely distributing it's intellectual property and not attempting to protect it at all. It would be no different to music companies putting music cd's in everyone letter box and then sending a bill for when people kept that music cd and failed to pay the cost of returning it. Just like the farmer should have destroyed all of the seed contaminated with Monsanto patented pollen and gone to a seed store in an attempt to buy seed from another region not contaminated with Monsanto patented pollen.
As for weed resistance to pesticides that was inevitable as all commercial crops are just one element of each plant genus/family consisting of many non commercial and even weed varieties. As such the pollen would also transfer across to compatible weed species (not necessarily directly but in steps of compatibility). It was always about short term profits, quick bonuses for this years rank of corporate executives and never about long term sustainability (screw the investors, the rest of the staff, the customers and the rest of the country). It always seems strange that corporations and their investors are penalised, whilst their psychopathic criminal executives continually escape with the money protected by their lobbyists and corrupt politicians.
