Now you have the rest of the world pushing out into space and the US will be caught between a rock and a hard place, either let Russia, China and now Japan and even India go cruising past it or cut defence spending or raise taxes or even go more bankrupt trying to fund the military industrial complex (a black hole dead end, literally burns, well, more accurately blows up, money to no advantage) and the space industrial complex to keep up (at least that provides a real future for generations to come). Now Russia and China are shifting defence spending to stale mate mode, whilst the US is spending at insane levels feeding psychopathic greed trying to take over the planet and force all other nations into vassal states, slave nations (trying not to win and just lock in permanent stalemate cost about a tenth of trying to win leaving plenty of resource to race past the US in the rest of the solar system and the galaxy beyond).
Google was fined for providing an advantage, whether it was themselves or others is arbitrary ie whether you steal for yourself or some one else, you still steal. Not to forget by the Canadian court making this court, they place their courts over all other nations courts without due process in those courts, so it hugely infringes sovereignty and if the US did it too Canada there would be a huge problem. Canada has no right to apply court rulings outside of Canada, none what so ever, they can only apply rulings to Google Canada and not one inch beyond.
What happens when others countries start applying counter rulings and start suing the Canadian government in their courts, what kind of chaos will spread.
You people are nucking futs. Politicians are meant to be party players to get elected, what ever the party that elects them but once elected they are meant to represent all the people in their district not just their party, that is a corruption of the representative ideal. People are meant voting for who they think will best represent them and demonstrate honesty, integrity and honour in office. The political party is meant to be just an election machine and not the means by which the government is run.
All people appointed to public office should be those who will best serve that office and those jobs should be advertised just like all others and those seeking appointment should be forced to supply a complete and detailed resume and undergo a public interview with the government required to publicly justify the reason for their appointment with regard to normal practices. So experience, knowledge, training, psychological suitability and a track record in the industry, not because they are corrupt buddies who helped get some lying douche bag politician elected. Criminal penalties should be applied, should politicians attempt to appoint inappropriate people to office.
Public offering of the position. Receive applications. Publicly review applications. Publicly interview the best applicants. Select one and than provide validation and proof of why they were the best candidate for the job, fail and be kicked from office to a prison cell. What the fuck accept blatant in your face corruption. All public offices should be filled by the best applicant for the job, after the job was publicly offered.
I gave up on Google news when they started serving up advertising fluff pieces as important news alerts. Now the worst thing about Google news it is a real bitch to clean off once you have installed, it most definitely does not die with a couple of clicks. Google have very much become shallow advertising driven arse holes and not to be trusted. They did some fine marketing with feel good research crap but it was just a charade to hide extreme corporate greed. Still not as bad as M$, no major corporate player (prying into peoples medical records via small business medical practices) is quite that bad but Google has managed to out evil Apple by quite a bit.
Which ever way it happens, fine. Change english, change maths formulas, create a uniform base coding language, even change the alphabet to Q W E R T Y but do real stuff don't waffle bullshit to fill corporate coffers. Create a working body involving government and universities, with limited input from corporate players (they will lie, cheat and steal for advantage so inherently will be obstructive rather than constructive) and have at it. The current bullshit is just crap, each lying corporate player trying to force their coding language into schools and force out competitors, it is just psychopathically sick and socially destructive.
There is a difference between push and pull. The party at fault is the one that request the data, not the one that stores the data on their servers. Google does not push that data, the end user requests it and Google just is meant to provide unfiltered access and in point of fact it just got fined over a billion dollars doing exactly what the Canadian court delusionally demands, selective provide data to advantage one party over another party. What the Canadian court has requested requires Google to act criminally in other countries and that is illegal.
Want coding taught in schools. How about a common coding language based soundly upon English grammar and maths formulas. The tech titan morons can not even decide whether the alphabet should be A B C or Q W E, why should we take advice from those morons, when their core interest is only teaching the coding language that favours their bottom line and fuck the rest. Hell, they want to ban OSs, ban competing languages, lock up data, force purchase of software by students and make them learn their QWEs, from the earliest age so they can start selling new era copyrighted and patented dictionaries, where you pay to use words based around Q W E R T Y U I O P A S D F G H J K L Z X C V B N M as the new alphabet. Patents on new language, like those idiot patents from everything transferred from common use to internet use.
Ohh gees give it a rest. The US government is owned and controlled by US corproations. Private industry is running the country, pretending the government is at fault is stupidly crazy. A hand full of corporations created this chaos by buying and owning corrupt politicians, basically the majority of Republicans and Democrats. You can start talking about your government, once the people control it, then you bitching will actually mean something. Right now corporations are purposefully fucking up every bureaucracy possible to steal as much as possible from the treasury and the rot starts at the top with the US Fed, corrupt as hell.
They must obey Canadian law inside Canada, there is not requirement for them to obey Canadian law outside of Canada. This is of course a civil and not a criminal ruling, hence it becomes all sorts of slippery. So basically Google just ignores it, outside of Canada and only applies to .ca specific searches.
