This game isn't limited by the fact it has 2 screens. I'd say the only limitation is I wish the top screen was also touch sensitive. Other than that, this Kirby game rocks! It definitely makes me want to play more stylus games.

  2. $60 games on the way... on PS2 to Have 10 Year Lifecycle, PS3 Not Cheap · · Score: 1

I think I heard or read somewhere that games for xbox 360 and ps3 will be about $60 (new). I like a good game as much as the next person, but isn't this a bit much? If I pay $60 for a game, it better be a *great* game. I also know development costs have risen significantly for these new systems but it doesn't ensure better quality games. I am definitely starting to feel this round of console wars will be won based on overall price and value. Making an initial $600-$700-$800 investment on a PS3 and a few games, memory card, extra contoller, would definitely make me hold off on buying one. An $800 total price tag sounds crazy to me, although it is quite possible.

I guess these debates are useless, maybe we should just preorder PS3 now (probably $500+ with some games)and save ourselves the trouble. Developers always know in advance which games will be a hit right? They know everyone is clammoring to play the next Gran Turismo and Metal Gear game. My mom even metioned to me the other day she is eagerly awating the next GTA game. Im glad you have saved me such time and hassle.

  6. Re:I call BS on Nintendo Gives No Ground In Handheld Wars · · Score: 1

I think Sony will lose focus on the handheld market as the PS3 launch looms closer. I also think the higher price of a PSP and the higher price of their games will take its toll. Playing games on the DS has actually turned out to be very enjoyable and alot of fun and best of all a great value (These games did not cost me $50 or more). I have been very happy with the last 2 titles I bought, Kirby and Meteos, both are great games and they only way you can play them is on a DS. The use of the stylus has certainly won me over too. I am also looking forward now to all of the online capable games due later this year. You can talk about market share all you want, if Sony does not reverse this trend by this fall, they will be in trouble with the PSP and they will be losing some of that market share back.

True. I do see that Nintendo has alot of momentum going with the DS these days although alot of people are downplaying it. I have enjoyed the new Kirby game as well as Meteos. I also know that there is alot more coming this year as well. I have never been the biggest Nintendo fan either (used to love all things SEGA), but their new innovative strategy really seems to appeal to me. Playing games on the DS is very different, new, enjoyable and overall a great value. I think Nintendo is going to be successful with the DS thats for sure.

I don't know what your talking about. Nintendogs is going to be a great game and I'm not new to gaming at all. Heck it might even be game of the year after reading alot of rave reviews about it. I think the fact that MS wants to make DS games just shows that there is alot of interest in what Nintendo is doing. Alot of folks are becoming excited about Nintendo this time around, and its not just newbie gamers.

While I agree that closing down all the user rooms is a bit extreme, I do think Yahoo has some responsibility here. Everyone knows these chat rooms have existed for many years and Yahoo did nothing about them. I am all for freedom of speech, people having hobbies, and even alternate lifestyles, however the basic topics of these rooms where illegal to their core and their creation should have been prevented a long time ago. They could have easily been filtered out systematically, or even hire a full time moderator that would remove *illegal* chat rooms in the even they are created. I also think Yahoo should have some responsibility in removing the 'automated' bots that frequenty show you pornographic links and phishing sites. The rooms are littered with that stuff and they allow it to continue. It's kinda sad, Yahoo could have done this so much better.

I agree with you on this. Im sure the software will need to be worked on to take advantage of all of this and its not gonna happen too quick. What is crazy is we just leaped into the 64 bit era as well. Developers should be taking advantage of that! I think it will take many years until we see the benefit of multiple cores, especially on a desktop. It has always existed when using multiple cpus, so I guess noone knew how to take advantage of it all these years. People will be surprised when their 4 core pc runs just as fast as one with a single core. AMD should be careful before they start going core crazy.

Come on folks, really, I know alot of you have run SMP servers, and you know for a desktop it really can't be necessary. I can sometimes agree with dual cores in the rare event you have 2 apps fighting each other for cpu, but 4 or greater?? I think this would be a very good server chip, but not for the average desktop. I'd take a faster speedier dual core over this for my desktop if possible. I think the industry needs to walk before it can run.

I wish Apple would produce their first gaming rig with Intel. Give them real speedy Intel chips, maybe ATI or NVidia SLI, fast memory, and a Physics chip included right on the motherboard like the one from AGEIA Physics Technologies. Im sure IBM has contributed before, but its probably been mostly with mainframes, DB2, or something legacy. We should be giving students a heavy dose of Linux, PHP, Python, MYSQL, even compiled c code. I might even recommend Java although it is not open sourced, yet.
