    I think that the opiate crisis is a perfect example of their way of thinking. I guarantees a customer for life.

    1. Convince (payoff) doctors that opiates are not addicting and should be more widely prescribed.

    2. Lobby the FDA/DEA/etc. to allow a greater flow and easier access to opiates.

    3. Get the DEA to back-off on companies who sell unusually large amounts of opiates.

    4. Sit back as doctors over prescribe their wares knowing that they will be abused.

    5. Watch as people get addicted to their opiates.

    6. Produce drugs that counteract the effects of opiates.

    7. Jack-up price of the Narcan and other like substances knowing people will pay the inflated prices while keeping the price of opiates low.

    8. Sit back and count the cash as it rolls in claiming it is not our fault the DEA approved out actions.

    This way the get a customer for life. And get the double bonus with selling them Narcan at an inflated price.

    Disclaimer: I don't use Facebook as I don't trust them and I like to maintain some sort of semblance of privacy.

    I am convinced that even if they charged users to keep their information private they would still sell it . Money trumps all in their business.

    They have no ethics and either does Google, LinkedIn, etc. Remember Googles original motto of Do No Evil? That went quickly by the wayside.

    As an example of how not to do it, call your web server "httpd" (OpenBSD, I am looking at you) how in $(DEITY)'s name are you expected to find help on specific configuration details?

    So, it is being claimed that Kaspersky's is trying to take down cyber-criminals? If they were accused of using their anti-virus software to spy that would be a different story.

    Because they work in Washington D.C. and it is almost impossible to get a permit to carry a gun even in a car. Where would they store their weapon before they enter the city?

    Gun laws don't magically make people stop wanting to murder people. But they do make it more difficult to get such an effective weapon for such purposes. Granted, there are way too many guns out there, which is a separate problem that also needs to be solved. Perhaps a gun buy-back program like Australia had.

    Yep, this will work. It has worked wonders in Juarez, Mexico across the boarder from El Paso, TX. It was at one time the murder capital of the world. It has been in the top 10 murder capitals of the world for years. All of Mexico is a "Gun Free Zone" (except when the "Fast And Furious" wanted to change that.)

    By definition, this is not a mass shooting. A mass shooting, by government definition, is 4 or more killed. The liberal media likes to use this term incite hysteria.

    I am sure Iraq, Afghanistan, or any other host of unstable countries of a particular religion have more mass shootings then we do. Convenient how the liberal media overlooks this. And don't forget the like for suicide bombers and car bombs too.

    I would let the cops use them for target practice. There are plenty of cops who have the experience of executing people already so no need to train them.

    Or I would use the guillotine. It worked extremely well during the French Revolution.

    Bottom line, there are many ways to execute someone but people want it to be nice. The pain and suffering is plain BS.

    So, here is the story:

    The California government purchases an iPhone (hey it is designed in California!) for the terrorist they hired (notice how most news organizations and the president like to call him a mass shooter to further their agenda of gun control instead of a terrorist that they were?).

    Being soooooo tech savvy, their IT department did not install away that allowed them (the gov) to access the phone that they owned and issued. It really seems that this whole encryption debate is design to mask the fact the the government is inept.

    How may companies would issue a device they could not control?
