  1. That is more contacts than the NYPD has had with the public in 5 years or more. Probably 75% of those responses came from jackasses in that had never been to NY or ever even had contact with the NYPD. Not to try and excuse the BAD cops but people who decry the viciousness of police based solely on some hugely biased news media coverage, are like professional protestors shipped in from wherever to boost numbers and cause trouble in order to garner additional media attention.

  2. I go and see a movie in the theater based on whether I think it will benefit from the big screen experience or whether I'd rather be at home watching in the comfort of my den on the 60 " with surround sound having a beer and a vaping a number or two. I've long since lost the urge to rush and see a movie the first night out or wait in line like I did when the empire struck back...

There is already a setting for metered connection which drastically reduces the amount of traffic. I'd imagine that function would be invoked when on a data capped connection. I'm still unwilling to buy my data plan through the M$ store, especially when I already have one connected to my existing phone. It is just plain retarded that the US doesn't allows phones to be locked to a particular carrier. Somehow no matter what the industry and the FCC tout it doesn't seem to be in the users' interest in any way shape or form...

I totally agree with you, a crime should require some overt action, just a passive browsing or even being openly sympathetic to a cause is hardly grounds for criminal action in my opinion.
Freedom to express your opinion is the corner stone of a free society, but it becoming as rare as chicken lips these days.

I realize the link about condoms is not exactly fresh but the current stats are still in line. While the government 'promotes' the use of birth control, they certainly don't got too far to ensure its availability.

  10. Of course they are unsafe, and filled with witches, sorcerers, and demons ready to take over the minds of young innocent students. Not to mention the curriculum wasn't specifically approved by the government and might have taught them something like it was bad to cut off the clitoris of a woman, or birth control could prevent STD's.

I too had a very good teacher in high school that taught a class referred to as civics or government, but was in reality a class in critical thinking. It was one of these epiphany provoking experiences that changed my whole outlook on life, for the better I'd like to think. Some call me a cynic, I rather think of myself as a realist. What is the difference between a dog and a pig as a source of protein. It is merely the society in which you are brought up in, either is a valid farm animal and an excellent source of protein. How about Guinea pigs in South America, or horse in many parts of the world, fertilized(crunchy) eggs in the Philippines.

  18. The courts have already decided that so called news programs consist mostly of opinion-tainment anyways how will one tell the fake news from the junk news ? I guess google white as the driven profit motive will decide what is valid and what is not ?

  19. You'd better do some research. California is one of ONLY 3 states to give more to the US federal government than it receives. Without California's MASSIVE tech and Agricultural industries the US GDP will take a double digit drop, creating an economic hit similar to the great depression and the banking crash. If California were a nation it would rank 6th in the world GDP.

  22. I personally think that anyone that is coming from a combat zone should be reassigned to a non combat zone for a term prior to be released back into mainstream society. We expect people to go from be shot at and returning fire in a combat zone to passive without difficulty and that is already proving to be very difficult. If combat vets from the war zones were reassigned to non combat zones while still under military discipline for a period to 'decompress' prior to being cut loose completely and all of them were required/given counselling and some retraining back to the civilian world it would help those that need it most while not singling them out for getting/seeking help. I have nothing but respect for the volunteers that serve in our countries military, the way our country treats them when they are done is sad and in many ways shameful.
