    I am having trouble finding a link showing that Suse 9.3 Pro comes with Crossover office or that it costs only $40. Am I misunderstanding you ?

    sharepoint runs on msde if I am not mistaken. 2 gig max db limit. all files stored in the db. large uploads flaky. customization a nightmare.

    how do you get mulch, rock, and plants home for your garden ?
    how do you bring home your new ladder for working on your deck/roof/gutters/etc ?
    how do you bring home your new washer and dryer ? (insert large furniture or appliance here)
    before you diss pickup trucks, get a life.
    then you may find out why pickup trucks are useful
    for more than just getting from point a to point b,
    which is all the electric/hybrids are good for

    it is easy to pick out a choice someone else has made and diss it, seeing as how you are not affected.
    try turning the finger back at yourself more often and you wont come off as such an
    impetuous jerk who wishes death on someone because of the vehicle they use.

    pcanywhere used to require more than one port...not sure what it needs these days, but if still requires 2, thats more of a hassle for firewalls. pcanywhere sucks anyway. remote administrator kicks its ass, and doesnt cost a small fortune. as far as ts being the only notable feature, you oughta try system restore too, its a worthy feature. there are others, but I get a sneaking suspicion I am arguing with anti-XP zealots.

    I agree that Win2k is a pretty nice OS, but to claim that XP is less than is silly.

    XP has terminal services built in.
    It has system restore.
    It has better integration with AD.
    If you care about the security side, it has a firewall.

    Have you ever administered/troubleshooted 20+ PCs remotely using 2k.
    Right, you cant.

    So turn off the eye candy, disable the few extra services, and enjoy what I call Windows 2000+
