the reason 3DRealms is able to not produce anything for years is because they already foot the bill themself. DN3D was so succesful that they can still make money with their rights to it, and its characters if they would be funded by a publisher, they probably would have been forced to release something years ago
MS can do that if they want, but it definatly doesn't belong in the GPL. while spam is annoying and all, that is no reason to start limiting the uses of GPL software. also, when would you stop? how about forbiding warez, cause everybody besides warez monkeys hates warez, right?

it is supported in phoenix. you when you set your homepage, you choose use bookmarks, and select some folder
thats true, up to a limit. if too many people try to download from the same tracker, it will overload, and start dropping connection. in this case, the whole of bytemonsoon will probably be down shortly.
also, there was a site for/. trackers. its down for maintenance right now, but i dont know for how long, so have a look: http://torrents.slash0.org/
yes, i sure would like to see a remake of starflight. MoM i dont actually think it would really be needed, since it looked good enough, and still runs fine on my box. anyway, MoM might even get a sequel. well, then again im not sure if i want a sequel like MoO3
incase anybody was looking for the file and couldn't find it, you have to load a game, view your stats, and press s to save them. that creates a stats.txt and a (horribly pink) stats.html in the folder your save games are in
for all the people that obviosly didn't RTFA or even the summary, this is not about recieving spam on your hotmail account, but geting spam from hotmail accounts. basicly, before you spammers had to go through the slow web interface to send spam, now they can automate the process
you offer to buy shares above the price they are traded on the open market. once you have more than 50% you control the company, so decided that it should merge with your company, or die, or whatever
1 GHz might be enough for most things, but that wont help apple. the problem is that apple needs to offer fast computers, which actually sell. see, those people that only need 1 GHz computers probably already have one, so they really dont matter
also, of course i can do everything with a 1 GHz cpu. however, i can do it faster with a 3 GHz one. true, i could just wait half an hour everytime i want to apply some complex filter in photoshop, but i dont want to
i guess to your defense you could argue that/. doesn't actually link to the patent. however, you really should know better than think the/. posting perfectly describes the patent.
anyway, the abstract is obviously not the actual patent, just a quick overview of it. what actually was patented was more a way on how to manage a action site. its stuff like having bar codes at the product your storing, and being able get pictures and a description of it. true, still seems completly obvious, but not quite as bad. then again, if you read the whole patent, you'll also notice that it isn't just for the internet.
The press release describes "initial orders of over 2.5 million copies", which is even more impressive considering Warcraft III has 'only' sold "well over 3 million copies".
are there really that many people buying the extension, or are there some people that have a pirated version that decided they like the game and now want to support blizzard?
does the EFF have a limited budget?
but adds in TV are really expensive.
with this patch they went right from 1.06 to 1.10, so warcraft 3 didn't have as many patches as diablo
