I believe this sums it all up "Anyone who is capable of getting themselves made President should on no account be allowed to do the job."--Douglas Adams
+1 (Informative) for catching the goof in the summery.
-1 (Troll) for not reading the article. According to it (of course, they could be wrong)... "Swen represents a high level of sophistication in its ability to execute code automatically"... and "Users whose PCs are not patched against the Microsoft flaw this worm exploits will be infected just by viewing the message, as will protected users who click on the e-mail attachment"....
> What kind of moron is running a version of Outlook without this patch?
Tell me 'bout it. Ever since I started using the patch I haven't even had a single craving to use OE. Yep, just stopped. Just put the patch on in the mornin and.....
oh wait, you mean a security patch....... right.....
Besides as long as Microsoft keeps making up their results as they go, they're not getting anywhere. For instance, this article talks about how biased MSN Searches are. They're purposely skewing the results. That gives me ample reason to not ever use their service.
Now if I recall, GTA is rated MA (Mature), so you're not supposed to play it if you're less then 18. If you still play it anyway and then kill someone, doesn't the lawsuit potential disappear, since Take Two had already said not to play if you are less than 18?
> No, they hold the copyright on Stupidity itself...
Obviously you didn't read about the case. SCO bought the licence to Stupidity V2.4. The majority of Fortune 500 companies are using Stupidity V3.9. Unless SCO also inherits the rights to any derivative works of Stupidity V2.4, then they can not claim infringement by Stupidity V3.9.
But then again, if some Stupidity V2.4 were to be put in the Stupidity V3.9 release... Oh the horror! The world might have to revert to being sensable people, or face copyright lawsuits!
> If one insists that one has a "right" to hack the XBox and run Sony games or Linux on it, Microsoft's response may be to raise the price of the XBox to at least the level of its marginal cost. Thus, consumers will wind up paying more for the same product. As a result, demand will go down, and this may result in unemployment and/or reduced wages.
Charge enough to cover your costs. What a novel idea. If I decide to buy an XBox at walmart right now, I get the XBox, a controller and two games. What if I decide not to buy anymore games? Those are the only two I want. What if I just want to copy all my CDs on to the XBox and use it to play all my music or DVDs? Not buy any games.
There is a great difference between building a business model with the consumers possible future needs in mind and building a business model with the consumers possible future needs as the primary avenue of money making.
If they want to sell me an XBox, fine. If they want to lease on to me, tell me at the store. Don't call it buying if I'm not allowed to use it as I see fit. Show me a contact that says I won't modify it. I promise you, I won't, but if I'm given new terms of agreement after I buy it, forget it. I'm doin it my way.
Course all I want to do with it, is okayed by Microsoft, so this was all just in theory....
Microsoft has just announced two security updates for the XBox gaming system. According to Microsoft, these exploits could be used to make you trip over your shoelaces in Halo.
The other vulnerability could let hackers fill your hard drive with MP3s over CmdrTaco singing.
The second patch is considered extremely important.
Microsoft. The people bringing you Trusted Computing. They design a computer. Part for part. No variation between XBoxes. They write an OS that won't let you modify the bootsector. They have their BIOS lock you out. And their Box is cracked. Great...............
> Yes, of course. However, just because MS are the bad guys in almost every scenarion, this does not mean that whoever opposes them are automatically on the side of the angels
The enemy of my enemy is my friend.
Also, the standard practice for sueing is get little fish with little lawyers first. Not Moby Dick with Godzilla, the man eating lawyer.
No, I believe they went for Microsoft first because they have the hardest feelings against Microsoft.
And in other news, a recent study has shown that end-users can play solitare more efficently on Windows XP with.NET.
A survey was conducted with 6 people, 5 Windows users and 1 Linux user, who only knew how to play blackjack. The MS users won more games, all totaled. Proof of MS credibility.
That's just how it goes. If it didn't reboot, then you would've had a fatal error :p
RTFA.... BTW.... M-O-U-S-E!
Really, wow. Slashdot does that to sites almost every day. :p
But if China had chosen BSD, then you couldn't make all the "BSD is dying" jokes!

For an overall +/- 0.

Sir, we've finally found those weapons of mass destruction. They were in a dorm in Utah.
Bill can I drive your car, duh, da
Okay mod me down now.

How many crews does it take to change a SNES?......
I never got around to that... my textbook was an object.....
Dang. So that's why I can't get my C compiler to compile Java! I thought it just couldn't handle the extra caffination!
