If the post went from 5 stars to 1 star, then that means that a lot more people disagreed with the post than agreeded with it. As for a mod locking the post, why did they lock it? offtopic, wrong forum, flaming, trolling, bumping? I have seen dozens of posts locked, and this is usually why.
I don't know where this guy got his information from, but I was on the Development tracker forum yesterday, and the only posts that were deleted from the patch error thread started by Q-3PO, Kevin O'Hara, were either flames or trolls. Each and everyone of the posts that were good, constructive criticisms, or a report of something that was a bug in nature without flaming was left up, and still is. As far as this patch being pretty borked, yea it is. However, SOE has been exceptionally open and apologetic about this, and the fans that have access to the site can get all of that from the announcement forum. For those that can't get in the forums, I'd recommend a fansite, such as for any of the info from the user-only forums, as they have posted a great deal of it.
If you are running the free version on the network, then yes, you will have that problem, as well as being in violation of your EULA. If you are running the pro version, then I still wouldn't recommend a software firewall on a corporate network. You should probably be doing this with an *gasp* actual hardware firewall.
I've read over half a dozen posts like this so far, but this is the last on my viewables, so I'll post my reply here.
Personally, I don't see why everyone is bashing ZA. I have been running it since they started releasing a free version, and have never had a single problem ever. On the other hand, I have watched BlackICE, Tiny, Sygate, and every other personal firewall I have tried let everything through that I didn't want coming in. Can ZA be a bit of pain as far as configuration goes? Yes, it can. I personally find it to be a bit of a pain whenever any of my MMOs are patched, because I have to reallow access. On the flip side of that, do I have to worry about script kiddies getting in through my mail or FTP ports? No, I don't because if an IP isn't on my ZA allow list, it doesn't get through, period. As far as an Uninstall bug goes, I have never run into that, while I have had that problem with all the Firewalls I mentioned.
That's news. The last I heard about this was that it was more or less a GCN port of the same game. I guess it's just a multiplayer version of LttP now./me shrugs.
Actually, I happen to own Legend of Zelda: The Four Swords. It is both games. The single player portion is Link to the Past, and the multiplayer portion is The Four Swords, which is really nothing more than a pseudo coop version of the actual game. However, this does not change the fact that the game is still Zelda 3.
It is absolutely forbidden to host an IRC server that is part of or connected to another IRC network or server
The way I read that, it says that as long as your IRC server isn't connected to another server/network, and is a network of itself, you are fine. Then again, maybe its just me.
Oddly enough, If they offer the disc as a bonus for ordering the four swords, as mentioned in the article, you will be getting A Link to the Past, aka Zelda 3.
Hear, Hear samus. Of Course, If he really wanted, he could always get a job that allows him to wear Cargo pants. Where I work, Friday dress is mandatory Cargo Pants, with combat boots, and a shirt that matches the pants. They come in a really neat Forest Camo pattern too.
According to the SWG page on their site, Vehicles and mounts are slated to hit TestCenter in November, and are going to be in development for the month of October. There used to be a gameplay video, but I can't remember the link to it.
So does Gamecube. They just don't have any software support. I already have my broadband adapter. Do you? Besides, as far as I am concerned, right now PS2 is the only console with a decent online game either out(Evercrack) or in the works(FFXI). Halo is much better played with a bunch of friends in a very large room. Not that a FPS is worth crap without a mouse/keyboard.
Oh, and before all the MS Zealots/Anti-Gamecube Sony Fanbois jump down my throat, yes, there are other games that can be played online, but for the most part, they suffer from the not really online problem, where you only get extra stuff, or the no good control scheme, as is the case of MechAssault. Now, if I could get a copy of Steel Batallion, you would see me, A Nintendork for well over 15 years, buying an XBox.
I didn't write that reply but I am more than happy to write this logged in. As for me being a troll, They don't usually post this high to start, unlike yourself, posting at 0.
This is true, and while as far as I am concerned DC is the best system ever, with some of the greatest games I have ever played, it was really hurt by the fact that sega did absolutely nothing as far as marketing is concerned, at least here in the US. The system did exceptionally well in Japan, however, which goes to show that they have way better taste than we do.
So am I the only one who is honestly not surprised by this? Gamecube is a really great system, with really great games, and people are obviously buying them in mass quantities now. To me, this shows that since PS2 hit the market first, and everyone hopped on that despite it's horrid launch and stuck with it, most of the gamecube sales to date have been from people like me who wanted the gamecube, not PS2. Now that Nintendo has slashed the price, people are going and buying it as a second system. Does anyone else smell the demise of the Xbox?
well, unless the hard version was also edited in the same way, then I don't have a clue as to what you are talking about. That plays through the same way as the orignal FF2 on my NES.
Actually, we didn't get FF2 until the origins collection. Our FF2 was FF4, and you are correct that it is the "easy" version. However, the easy version is identical to the hard version, just with weaker monsters.
If vincent was the most useless character in the game, how come he was practically invincible in the battle arena while using the chaos limit break, regen, while having the ribbon equipped?
FFX isn't on the lst, Substance is way better than the original MGS2(I do own that, BTW), and I got tired of Twisted Metal on the playstation. Oh, Tekken 4 is about the worst Tekken game ever. No balance between characters at all. Baldur's Gate is pretty bad too. Not nearly as good as the PC version. Aside from those, good point, but even 5 out of 300 is about 2%, which is much less than 10% of all the games on the list which are good.
I find it more telling that 90% of the cheap PS2 games are absolute crap. I also find it interesting that games which hit the 100k copy mark before launch take forever to get on the list, and many of those still aren't. Oh yea, and the fact that Sony has a year and a half to get games out there has nothing to do with their larger catalog either. Bottom line, yes Sony has a lot of games on the market. They also have a year on N. Personally tho, I think that on a pure level of quality gaming, Nintendo whips Sony all day long, until you get to the Final Fantasy series, and a couple of other games aside from those. As far as $40 being too much for a game, that is right about where Sony and MS are selling games, so I don't see that as an issue.
Sadly, I have not played Disgaea yet, despite everything good I have heard about it. This is mostly a direct result of not having seen a GC version, and my not owning a PS2. Oh, and SWG currently ownz my soul, so that doesn't help much either.
1. .Hack//Sign was also a manga first. Many great anime series start like this.
2. The manga that follows the .Hack games is not key of the twilight, it's Legend of Dusk's Bracelet.
3. The anime has already been licensed, and we should be seeing that next year. It parallels the manga that is being released by TokyoPop.

I haven't found the Key of the Twilight, but some girl named Aura gave me this really neat bracelet....
whoops, fscked up the link. go here

Yes, reintroduced. As in played the hell out of them both and moved on, then got back in with FFTA.
That was Deckard Cain, not the blacksmith.
