  1. I forgot one genre on People Swapping PS3s for Wiis? · · Score: 1

Oh, I forgot the booktype/story telling kind of games, of which the lawyer games seems the most liked but there are others released/in the works aswell.

(Phoenix Wright: Ace attorny and the follow up, Another Code and the follow up, Hotel Dusk, ...)

Also I guess the "non-game titles" should be mentioned, such as the brain training, cooking game, and such, which I don't care about ;D

So did you got nothing at all or the DS? If you like:
    * Old school 2D scrollers (New super mario bros, Yoshis island ds, 2 castlevania titles, megaman zx, princess peach, star-fi, ..)
    * Puzzle games (Kirby, yoshi touch&go, maybe even zookeeper and meteos thought I don't like them that much.)
    * RPGs (One final fantasy released, two in the works, Children of mana, Zelda)
Also various platform games and so on, I doubt it will disappoint you.

The DS is probably NOT the perfect console for people who want to play car games, games which requires analogue input to be good and various fighting games. Also it's not the best choice for people who want flashy 3D graphics with massive lighting effects instead of "hand made pixel bitmaps" ;)

Imho KDE is the nicest desktop environment for unix, fvwm might be a good alternativ window manager if I ever put in all the effort necesarry to configure it, but I guess I never will.

They could do something as easy as USE SOME FUCKING SIMPLE CODE WHICH WORKS. I use Opera 9 and most pages work if not all, and it's the best browser out there being small download and memory footprint, fastest, least security issues (well, lynx and whatnot might have less, but fewer than IE, firefox and Safari.), very portable and the most innovative one.

It also passes Acid2 test, something firefox doesn't do so well and IE 6 totally messes up. Don't expect IE 7 to do any better either.

Shouldn't the two most important things with a webpage be that it's:
    1) Informative and contain anything useful at all (That leaves out most of the blogs and myspace.)
    2) Actually usable (No browser specific stuff, flash and similair shit and easy to navigate.)

  14. TY, Ritek and TDK and the Gamecube on How To Choose Archival CD/DVD Media · · Score: 1

Well, here in Sweden you have to pay some sort of copyright taxes of media bought in Sweden and Taiyo Yuden (and many other brands) are much cheaper from example SVP in england. I can get Taiyo Yuden media there for no more or very little than whatever DVD-R in other webshops.

Another dye I've been told was good was the Ritek G04 and G05 since that worked in the Gamecube, I don't know if Taiyo Yuden does, the reason should be that the discs are more "perfect" than others I suppose, but I read later that they age very fast and the amount of errors can get high even after a few months so it might be a sad choice now or a year later. Anyone tried the Taiyo Yuden discs in Gamecube?
I only own a LG gma-4020b 2x DVD-R burner so I'll get a Pioneer DVR-111d or something aswell so if +R discs are better I will get them, but do they work in my Gamecube?

The same store also had TDK discs which was much more scratchproof than others according to the advertisment, I think the price was around twice as much as for the other discs but on the other hand they could handle much more uncare handling with the same amount of errors.
Good for people like me who stores some of their discs on the floor and such ;D

Is rayman really funny? Looks a little simple? Wii sports must become boring after a while, I think I rather play smash football or whatever the name of the gamecube tennis title is and so on because you can make more stuff in them, those with the new controller will be even better thought of course.

On the DS I'm not intrested in the real gimmick games either such as Wario ware DS or whatever it's called and some other titles like that, Yoshi Touch&Go is ok and Kirby rocks thought.

On the Wii I would much rather play Zelda, COD3 and Metroid Prime 3, and Mario Galaxy of course.

But I bought my Gamecube like 13 months ago and still haven't played more than say 50 hours on it and my DS lite 3-4 months ago or so so I have plenty of games I can play anyway, the Wii is expensive and you can't chip it yet so I'll wait.

Anyway I just post because I wanted to say that there are way better and more intresting games than Wii sports and Rayman coming or released for the Wii.

But the most popular titles such as Quake, Warcraft, WOW, Unreal and C&C runs on Macs, but that is more or less it I think. I don't think for example HF2 does so all CS gamers are lost on Macs.

Thought to me those games are enough I think, HF2 would be fun to.

The reason I haven't switched to Mac yet is that Apple always tend to make shitty hardware and always cheap out on the low end model to force it's buyer to opt for a much more expensive middle or top end model. I wanted to get a Macbook Pro but I'm affraid the 128MB vram will be to little for me using dual screen, leopard with core image + core animation, occasional gaming and if I want to install Vista and run Aero 3D, so I think I'll wait for yet another revision and hope that they will have 256MB vram in all models then, but who knows.
The middle model do have 256MB vram but I would be paying around $300 for 7% faster CPU aswell which I have no intrest in at all. Imho pretty retarded to put in the worst/best CPU available and then mediocre GPU, and also to cheap out on the GPU in the low end model when the 256MB version can cost what? Max $40 more?
