A comcast tech told me that the address should only change if you call and have a problem. They will give you a new IP to rule out some possibilities.
I've had 3 different IPs in 4+ years.
1 with @home, a new one when we switched to comcast, and then one since that time.
if you get and alpine cda-xxxx head unit, say like this head unit here, and also get this adapter you will be able to control the ipod from the head unit and have song titles and other info display on the head. this is not the same as the bmw thing...it is much much better.
...but when the RIAA et. al. get Congress to legislate what they cannot acheive in court they will win the war.
I have no hope for any sort of just or fair resolution to this situation.
Well, that and filesharing -is- wrong, IMO. But that isn't really the issue...To me this is more an issue of the inescapable march towards total corporate rule.
which could devastate a large populated area if they make a teeny tiny error, I dunno, say they use metric instead of imperial or maybe put a screw on backwards [cough cough NASA cough cough]
In the time of Jesus it wasn't exactly kosher to be Christian. Christmas was celebrated very early on in December under the cover of other holidays, some Pagan some I forget the details of. The tradition stuck. It was made official in 336AD when the pope decreed christmas was to be celebrated on 12/25 to offset a pagan holiday.
. . . the female Dracunculus medinensis migrates from the gut to a point just under the skin of, say, a leg, where she then commences growth to a length of as great as three feet, and where, ultimately, she lays her eggs.
When the thousands of babies make their joyous arrival, they blister the skin and pop through, leaving Mom behind. The traditional way to get rid of her is to wrap her head around a stick and twist very slowly--one turn of the stick per day--for weeks or months, depending on how long she is. (This treatment is so old that it inspired the ancient snake-and-pole aesculapius symbol of medicine.)
i just installed office2k on an XP sp2 box Thursday. No issues here. The only problem I have experieced is trying to install Norton SysWorks 2003, where I had an error with some 'common client' thing, but that was an easy fix as well.
i guess i will find out when i get home. it was neat to see itunes running in suse without the aid of vmware, but i could basically only get it to launch...beyond that it was either frozen or really slow...basically useless.
but with their friendly upgrade policy i will be trying out 4.0 soon. they seem like a nice company. ahh, one day itunes will run flawlessly under linux, and that will be a GREAT day!
they should probably work on getting desktops and laptops working in a much simpler fashion....then move on. i don't see people trusting their office system to something that is a hassle at home just because it is a little cheaper.
i prefer digikam to picasa, personally.
They care if they make good music.
Sucess [which is a very relative term] is just a consequence of making good music.
If you tweak your music to make it more likely to be a 'hit' instead of what you were aiming for artistically you've already lost.

what does this have to do with a mac?
I meant blatant sharing of copyrighted materials. I think it is [mostly*] wrong. It wasn't really my point, however.
*don't feel like going into all of the specifics of my views.

yet Cat Stevens is the real danger to the world.

there is only DRM on iTunes purchases. it doesn't really have anything to do with the ipod. i have 4000 non-drm'd songs on my ipod.
What in this article is a threat to broadband? What editor at CNet wrote this headline?
:)
quote: ISPs see online games as an application that could tempt many people-- both PC and console users--to broadband.

maybe they meant "opportunity" but threat got posted instead. Damn spellchecker
You call that a conspiracy theory?
THIS is a conspiracy theory!
