    you can learn color theory, you can figure out what doesn't look -bad-, you can get a basic grasp of what not to do, etc..., but to really be able to make something good you just have to know how to do it without knowing how you did it, so to speak.

    and every day when you leave. better yet, get an electonic thermostat if you can, and program it. turn out lights when you are not in the room. don't run water needlessly. if you aren't actually using your computer at night (uploading, compiling, serving, whatever), let the computer go to sleep or turn it off.

    My new one sounds a teeny bit cleaner than my old 3G 40GB.

    The issue with the bass rolloff with low impedence phones [IE in ear monitor style] is still there, but not as severe. all that requires is the use of the EQ + mp3/aac gain anyway.

    overall i like the way it sounds. i know that probably doesn't help much.

    Are they on the plate [like DE]?

    Or inside the window?

    I know in Philly there were some big problems with people getting their license plates cut up and the inspection stickers stolen.

    How hard is it to reprogram an RFID tag? It seems like another opportunity for identity theft...

    wow! i am pretty geeky, but i am satisfied with my laptop and his two friends, external HDDs Mr. One and Mr. Two. I guess all of that would be nice but that is more time than I need to spend managing and maintaining my home system

    It's not like Wikipedia is the only place to get information on the internet [and don't forget that real world out there].

    if someone ruins it, sure it is a shame, but something else will pop up to replace it. The internet is just a big game of whack-a-mole, no matter if you are the RIAA, the Feds, a kiddie porn fiend, or a information seeker.

    It's kind of the whole point...

    I would not be suprised, 4 years from now, if every Windows computer sold came with an application like this. It would be "improved" for "the children" and to "protect us": it would be unremovable, actually use signatures, and would automatically delete "bad" things, and most likely clandestinely report them with svchost.exe or something you cannot block with your firewall and still have a functioning internet connection.

    why would you use hotmail?

    I have comcast and the email seems to work fine...I can access it via thunderbird or the web...

    however friends with hotmail/yahoo/whatever often suffer delays when sending/receiving messages, etc. I can see if you don't want to change an email address for a business, but otherwise I don't see the point now that POP3 access is a "premium" feature.

    and why in the world would anyone pay $60 a year for a crippled version of outlook of all things? If you are using webmail in the first place I doubt you really need something with all of the functionality of outlook.

    Mine worked right off the bat!

    SUSE 9.2 pro on a Dell Insp8600 with the IPW2100 chipset...Shoot, the battery meter even worked, first time I have been so lucky! I like 9.2 :)
