Concur. I bought a copy of Minecraft a year or so ago even though I had no interest in playing. It was more a matter of supporting the developer. I've tried playing it a few times, even following the video tutorials but just didn't really care about the concept (as interesting as it is). That said, I love space trader games, but yeah, there need to be other aspects. I think Escape Velocity was the closest I've come to the kind of thing I've wanted. Warpgate HD was a close second.
That's an overly broad statement and not factual; it's only true of fundamentalist practitioners. With Orthodox Judaism, you're right. But the Reform and Conservative movements don't. There a women rabbis and cantors, and in some types of Christianity women pastors (I don't know if there are female imam's. Not saying there aren't, I just don't know.)
Like someone once said when referring to earthquakes, "for you, the _big one_ is the one that results in a brick falling off of a building, hitting you on the head, and killing you." So with the example of a 1 or 2, if what's revealed results in a lost job, etc. that's pretty big to you (albeit it possibly just a source of mirth for other people.)
Except buyers often buy from more than one dealer. If they could, as you say, easily busted the dealer himself, then they can hold off on doing so so they can see if any of the buyers are willing to turn over information on other dealers. Then, when they feel they've gathered enough information to move on other dealers, they pick up the guy who was renting the house.
We'll buy games - third-party, indie games from companies that find ways to make them playable on the consoles. Manufacturers will sue and someone like Penny Arcade will start a petition to raise awareness and protest the manufacturers. It'll go to court and with the deep pockets of the folks like Microsoft gamers will lose. Anonymous will step in after DHS shuts down megauploadindiegames.com. Then we'll see a Gamer Spring and warrants will be issued for Gabe and Tycho, who manufacturers will think are real people. Taxpayers will spend millions trying to hunt them down in Washington state via armed drones. And then zombies appear. I'm not sure how, but that's pretty much how these things always end. Damn zombies.
I was an editor for a (now-defunct) "Geek news" site and someone there mentioned doing it. I emailed the publishing company and passed along my resume. They asked if I was interested in writing a book and I said it was too much effort. They came back and asked if I was interested in the tech editing and I said sure.
Except when they don't. Some of the books for my IT degree haven't been updated in years and get lousy reviews on places like Amazon. Plus, it's kind of tough to put as much value on textbooks for IT degrees that aren't available digitally.
Once I realized I had to register in one browser, check email and then log in to the site with another before I could finally sign the petition with a third, I had no problem... Who needs SOPA to break the Net? Just have these guys design every site.
I'd like to know where OP thinks such a deal exists. MS sets the price and even the lowest-end Xbox (4gb) with the kinect is $299. Amazon had a deal where it was $279 plus $100 credit at Amazon (which is when we got ours) but that kind of thing is _rare_. CompUSA (who knew they even still existed?) had the package for $199 for about one day during the holiday, but it required in-store pickup.
Oh, and Galaxy on Fire. GREAT, similar game.

> "cracker" make you blush as well?
Only when it precedes and succeeds the word "ass."

> The inability of the incompetent to recognize their own limitations is a story that has been covered before on Slashdot
Covered on Slashdot? I thought that was Slashdot???
Best part of reading on the iPad is I don't have to look like a huge dork carrying around the Icewind Dale books and reading them on the subway ;)

With sharks. We can't forget the sharks.
>people dont post when they accidentally shit themselves
Yeah. That's what MySpace is for..
And hand him a list of all of the pirated MP3s he has.

The only thing I use my account for is when sites like Macheist or whatever offer something cool for free when you tweet about their event.

I used to do tech editing for books like some of the Idiot's guides (). Pay was $2/page and very easy.
And that kids is the story of How I Met Your Congress.

But if I ever catch the bastard who taught them the blink tag ....
Now go away or he shall taunt you a second time.
> they'll tell you how they'll cut the Energy department and the Education department,
And that third one. Whatever it was. Damn. I never remember which one I mean.

Phorm, you really take the fun out of making poop posts :)

Couldn't we use the feces to meet our energy needs?
