    You can bet that Linux will not be included, unless it is negative news (think SCO).

    it's just,

    its just bad taste is what it is.

    It could also be seen however, as a good thing for IBM and Linux. Gates is now resorting to cheep parody's and propaganda - he's desperate! :)

    Well, I happen to be a cannadian citizen! If My opinion is that GATOR is SPYWARE , then it is my fundemental right to not only have that opinion, but also freedom of speech through any medium! It stuff like this that makes one want to create "www.gatorisspyware.com".

  9. Here's an interesting idea(s)... on Shopping Carts Go Wi-Fi · · Score: 1

    1) DOS attack one shopping cart using five others thus rendering all six useless...
    2) Create a linux build and replace the shopping carts OS with it. Now you can crack company passwords with your beowulf cluster of shopping carts!
    3) wardrive the shopping mall
    4) load up the linux build you made in #2 to an old laptop and bring it to the store. bury it outside the super-mart with some kind of power source (outdoor plug, solar pannles) and have it do your bidding.
    5) broadcast over WIFI a change of prices and sales to the shopping carts
    6) use your immagination.

    this type of experiment would have been ultra fun for the projectiles unit in Physics 12. we did something of this sort, we built lego catupults (my teams being the most acurate). But this... even just to have a shot put or some smaller object... man. that would have been fun physics!

    take one sheet of electronic paper, and put it in a case with a slim battery and componets for embedded linux, and add a usb port at the bottom for a miniturized qwerty keyboard, or maybe 2 or 4 for extras! demensions 8.5"x11"x.05". basicly an imbedded linux tablet!

    people will buy this cd simply because it wants to be cracked. Immagin such a scam - our cd comes with the latest anti-ripping technology! this would increase the purchase of any cd by bad artists because all the crackers want a piece of the so called "state-of-the-art" technologies!

    na, when a telemarketer calls you whill your using free VoIP, you simply let them talk to you, and if your not interested, you inform him/her that your computer currently has 516days uptime, and that you will not hang up.

    (for thoughs of you who dont know, telemarketers arnt allowed to hang up untill you do.)

    well, lets see here. "Microsoft Windows Journal Viewer", "Microsoft .NET Framework version 1.1", "Root Certificates Update", "Windows Media Player 9 Series*", "Update for Windows Rights Management client 1.0" and some update for "IPSec and L2TP/IPSec."

    Well, as it turns out, i am either already patched against this new threat, or i'm hopelessly open to losing it all. yippy!

    we do need cards because i dont like having dongles sticking out 1 1/2" behind a laptop. it skews everything. most cards can fit entirely inside a pcmcia slot (especialy thoughs wi-fi cards with retractable antennas)

    This new standard seems to be getting a lot of backlash. Most of it seems to be the fact that other cards exist.

    Other cards that exit cannot achieve the same speed as expresscard. As wonderful as integrated devices into your laptop are, you don't always get what you want. Gigabit Ethernet is one such technology that I haven't seen much of, consumer wise, until recently. You simply can't run 100Mbit Ethernet on an old ISA bus. However it works out nicely with 32-bit pci bus slots. SD, MMC, CF, PCMCIA, etc... don't have what it takes to run gigabit Ethernet.

    also, remember that originally, it was slow modems and nic's that began with pcmcia, but because the standard grew and offered more, you now have wireless, gps, memory readers, etc... with time, there should be new technologies introduced to this new standard just as it happened before - because now a standard exists that permits further growth.

    oh ya. get the usb adapter and have a usb-powered car that can do 60mph in under 4 seconds.

    anyone know where i can get a (*does some math*) an 80 meter usb extention? that way i can run this baby up and down my street for a total of 60 seconds each way!
