    Well, for a non-US resident (Canada in my cae), I would say that if I want to know the directions from point A to point B (in Montreal for example), I'd rather use either Yahoo! Maps or Mapquest. The results are better.

    Luckily, I know Montreal Streets a little, so I can judge the value of the directions given. And Google never makes the mark for me (almost never the most efficient road.)

    However, if I want to see interesting pictures, Google Map/Earth is the best thing I know.

    I think Mac OS X should quit the feline naming scheme and jump to a Canadian Football Leage naming scheme.

    The best part is that they could name 2 different versions "Roughriders"

    I can foresee it:
    Mac OS X 10.5: Roughriders
    Mac OS X 10.6: Alouettes
    Max OS X 10.7: Roughriders (Renegades)
    Mac OS X 10.8: Eskimos
    Mac OS X 10.9: Lions
    Mac OS X 10.10: Stampeders

    The patched Safari is not yet avaliable for public consumption. It is unknown when the patches will appear in a public version of Safari.

    So, how can we know that it can display the Acid2 test correctly? And that it can still display the other things right?

    That's the most useful feature: the "conveniance" of always having a camera with you. You never know when it can be useful. Took a picture of that big diagram drawn on a blackboard before someone erase it, take a picture or two of that guy who looks like trying to sneak in your neighbor house...

    Gay marriage is already law in many provinces now, but it is be voted federally soon.

    We're gonna be in elections soon, Conservatives will enter by the grand door because I doubt that the Liberals will get something out of the next elections after the current Scandal that is really going out of proportion now.

    And I'm damn sure that Harper will vote a law against gay marriage. (I don't approve it, I'm just saying that it is what's going to happen.)

    Well, you're gonna be screwed. There is a recent law in Canada that prohibits to ask for Refugee's status if you travelled by the U.S.A. to come to Canada.

    Maybe you can try to enter into a terminal airport and live there.

    I really do prefer to trust an organization like Ile Sans Fil here in Montreal to get free urban wifi internet access in the city!

    Yes, it's a nice feature.

    But, what everyone want to know: Could we find a satellite picture that will show us something unusual, but interesting that is unusual in these pictures? Like a forest fire or a house fire? An explosion? A big car accident?

    Come on Slashdotters! If everyone who read this try with his own address, I'm sure we can find something! Please post your discoveries in reply to this post so we can all see them!

    Yes, because everybody know that someone without an ID around his neck BUT with a semi-automatic weapon will absolutly be unable to enter the school by the front door and pass the "dangerous-looking" secretary.

    Your comparison is interesting.
    You compare using the out-of-box crappy application (that are usually very limited) in Windows with working hard to get someone that will work fine in Linux.

    What if you find a program that di it well in Windows.

    In fact Windows recognize many cameras as "external hard disk", so you only have to open the file explorer and copy your pictures on your hard disk. It is working pretty fine I would say.

    Do you know that there pretty much the same proportion of persons having a gun in Canada than in the US? The difference is that they are mainly hunting rifle instead of 9mm or Semi-automatic gun.

    Outlawing of religions: Hummmm, I'm Canadian since 25 years now and I've never heard of hat. We even let the Rael's group do pretty much whatever they want. We let the Solar Temple Order disciples burn themselves a couple of year ago. Outlawing what? I really do need an exemple here. We respect all religions as long (as some posted earlier) that they don't make hate propaganda (what I think would also be illegal in the USA).

    Lobby for Open Source OR Free Software is good. The important thing is to not divide our efforts in things the usual non-geek would not understand.

    There is already Dell Stores in Canada too. There is a least one in Montreal.

    Probably the possibility to carry around your own configuration. Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think that you can "customize" your feature on Knoppix and carry them around.

    One advantage that I see here is that you could change your Linux configuration and have your changes with you on every desktop you use. If they release a new version of OpenOffice (or Mozilla or GIMP...) I would believe you could update your packages...
