It's funny--the sites that offer this functionality force you to use a password hint, and usually force you to use a premade question that are not very difficult to guess, especially by somebody who knows you well. What's my middle name? Oh no, I hope some "1337 hax0r" doesn't crack that enigma. If you want to make sure your question doesn't get guessed by somebody other than yourself or an authorized person, you usually need to include a munge or answer a completely different question than the one listed. After going through all that, it's usually just easier to remember the password you created in the first place.
First of all, just to let YOU know, I use Windows XP Home. I use it because it's faster and easier to use than Linux with KDE or Gnome. However, it is by no means stable (unless compared to earlier releases of Windows). I have had several BSoDs, not to mention random reboots. Occasionally, when I start the computer, the mouse won't even work, and when I check in the CP, the driver is missing. I had to switch to a USB one so all I have to do is plug it in again to make it work. The computer was store bought, has no hardware upgrades (except the mouse, if you want to nitpick), and I regularly use Ad-aware and AVG.
Second of all, if the implant is running Windows, I agree with Bill, because I wouldn't be too happy if I had to reboot my brain as often as I do my computer, or the implant couldn't find a driver and I wasn't able to move my right arm for the day...
int main() {
for(int i=0;i10;i++)
switch(rand()%3)
{
case 0:
printf("Blew that sucka away with my nine.\n");
case 1:
printf("Slapped my ho' 'cause she didn't pay up.\n");
case 2:
printf("G-G-G-G-G-G-G-UNIT!!!\n");
} }
For those looking for a better reference of the measure mentioned, Speed of a Bicycle is in between Mum Falling Down the Stairs, and Cat Jumping Out of the Bath.
Yes, because that makes a lot of difference when compared to 3*10^8 m/s...
In my school in NC, there's a course required for graduation by the state called ELPS (Economical, Legal, and Political systems). It rolls Civics in to the curriculum. Also, schools here offer AP US Govt.
>"Newsflash 2: People who speak English as a second language are often better at correct grammar then native English-speakers."
that's Because they Ain't be teachin' No slang in da ESL classes @ tuh skool Plus dey haves those grammur lessens that they don't got in the normal inglish classes.
But seriously--that's common sense, if you consider the curriculum for most English classes. My school could have fit the grammar/spelling/vocabulary/etc. lessons I've had in nearly three years of English in high school so far into two or three weeks. It was the same in middle school. Also, outside of some kind of phonics section in the third grade, I can't remember any english lessons there, either. You want to know what we have been doing? We've been reading literature and making inferences. The only problem is that the kids are confused by most of it and bored by all of it, and they gain nothing from it. The end result is that I usually end up being robbed of an hour and forty-five minutes of my time each school day. It's lovely to see your tax dollars at work, isn't it?
Maybe it's just me, but if the sites are doing something illegal (such as spamming people in states with anti-spam laws, however ineffective, or distributing kiddie porn), then they deserve a little vigilante justice. The government has already shown their inability to control this themselves, so why not take matters into our own hands? If you disagree, please leave your e-mail address, so I can introduce you to a few of my friends/business partners who also think that this is such a travesty.
I've tried that... some of the people on the sales floor are so desparate for that commission that they'll refuse to let you leave. I literally argued with a sales assistant for around 3 minutes that I did not want or need the extended warranty on the laptop I wished to buy. Eventually I gave up, went across the street, and bought the same model of laptop at Circuit City without the hassle.
Hmmm... somebody's either not very tech savvy or really desparate for porn

It's not a good one either (mainly because of being relegated to AOL for 12 months)
CompUSA or one of those office supply stores is selling a computer with a 2.6Ghz CPU (Pentium, I think), etc. etc. for $500. Better parts to begin with means less upgrades and (possibly) less hardware failures due to cheapass parts. The only problem is that it's $500 after the rebate...
Yes, but they were destroying something that was already destructive. Anybody who takes down one of the leeches on society is worthy of at least some praise.
but you still have to find a power source that won't pollute the source that the robots are trying to monitor, not to mention one that's effective underwater.
I agree with the other posts about using paper logs or nothing at all. However, if you insist on using a battering ram to open an unlocked door, I would suggest solar power/battery backed up units that detect certain RFID tags coming within a certain distance. This way, people have the option of being tracked, and it eliminates noise (like bears).

>I wish these devs would call their games for what they are instead of trying to hide behind this conjured BS.
Yes, because I'm sure that all the people against video games wouldn't use their admission as one of their arguments...
Obviously you've never worked with the "English teacher" version of the interpreter.

Yes, and when I drive in my car, I suppose I have an "unfair advantage" over the people who choose to walk?

Actually, most people I know STILL haven't patched IE against that one exploit...

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't the value of a Euro $1.60 around 2002?

I don't know about you, but I wouldn't be congratulating them, exactly...

"Even the President of the United States appears unfocused and uneducated." This is set in the future, you say? I guess some things just don't change.

In other words, the FTCs contract protects Microsoft from lawsuits in the way that plastic wrap protects a steel block from bee stings.
Since they couldn't even decide on a single DVD format, you have to wonder what they're good for besides limiting the radio frequencies we can use.
Nobody's life is worth an iPod. ...What about the mugger's/pickpocket's?
If everybody always suggests using a backpack to hold your laptop in, don't you think muggers will have wised up by now?
