    Hmm, he is accused by Sweden of rape. Which is backed by actual evidence and the circumstances are not refuted by anyone.
    Not exactly a political trial as you put it, for instance like that Chinese nobel prize winner Liu Xiabo. Or russian dissidents. Or ms Suu Kyi.
    Heck, it's not even the US prosecuting, he won't be extradited and the trial is happening in Sweden, one of the most liberal, open and
    transparent countries in the world. What do you suggest, journalists get a free rape pass because anything held against them could be
    politically motivated?

    And besides, it's not like there are no journalists in the US who are furiously trying to make the government look bad, eh?

    You are seeing things which are simply not there. Seek professional help for your own sake to get rid of your feelings of paranoia..

    The issue in rethinking the software patent system is that the big companies have invested insane amounts of money in their patent portfolios and have projected income on these portfolios for the coming years. Their shareholders certainly won't agree with invalidating software patents.

    That is like Ford allowing you to only play cd's in their cars which they approve of. Lady GaGa? Sure. But Marylin Manson? Forbidden! Similar to the Apple store policies.
    That kind of policy would surely be dealt with swiftly, but somehow as OP noticed we take that for granted when electronics are added.

    So windows would be a bad application, as it would leave out the natural heating from outside, and even pickup the heat from inside as well. You'd need to increase the central heating inside to compensate, probably costing more energy than the sheet absorbs.
    This raises the question why it's transparent in the first place! (puts on his tin foil hat)

    Do they? Look at the linked article. In phones, Apple has a 14% market share, vs Symbian (47%) and RIM (20%) Hardly dominating. Apple TV? Haven't seen it yet. The only market in which they may claim a large position is in tablets, and I seriously doubt if they can hold the lead very long. Android tablets are appearing fast now, especially cheap Asian knockoffs, which sell like warm bread. Compared to the iPad which has serious shortcomings (vendor lock-in, content restrictions, not expandable) the future looks bright for those devices.

    I LOVE that keyboard; I have two spares in my closet for the possibility that my current one breaks down. Never happened, ofcourse.
    Pros: - very good design
    - no wireless, fast response
    - does not break or fail

    Cons: some keys are hard to reach, for instance the '7' key is a bit tough
    - the 'extra' keys are useless, I never used the calc button and the browser and mail buttons are annoying if pressed by accident
    - the 'f' modifier (for the function keys' is useless.

    So you have no idea what the numbers are, but you don't seem to have a problem pulling them out of thin air. You must be a climate scientist.

    And on a related note, I could argue that most hard drive space is used for illegal copies of movies and music - therefore, hard drives should be banned and all data should be stored in a controlled cloud environment. This will enable the *AA to directly calculate the necessary taxation. Would that make you happy?

    It should be " it's OK for him to hack into *something* else's account" - it's not specific, and it's not setup by a human being, just some script running, so there can be no ownership
    involved. Or would you claim that, would my dog succeed in opening a bank account, that I would be the legally responsible entity for that account?

    Nope. The issue is that a lot of countries are now spending taxpayer money to create IOS applications, which then end up on a closed, even walled platform. All this because those in charge believe the Apple hype and think that 90% of the people are using an iPoney. And this is not a Good Thing (tm). Reality Distortion at its finest. I will never switch to an Iponey due to its closed nature, however this won't stop my government and many government funded organisations to throw money at Apple oriented products.
