I wonder what would happen if they got their way and found out it now costs $10 to get a Big Mac. Would they then call for a federal burger subsidy program?
I couldn't agree more. And how the hell did this comment get modded -1 Insightful? Oh right, it really should be called -1 Anti-Apple. Or perhaps -1 Harsh Truth.
Great idea! You go first. Be sure to come back here and post about how it went when you arrest the police chief. Or should I say, have someone you know come on here and post since you won't be able to get to a computer from your jail cell.
I was recorded on a security camera when I went into 7-eleven last night and I didn't give consent. Can I have the franchise owner charged with a felony? Also, I was at the park when a guy was filming his kids playing catch and he pointed the camera right at me as I walked by. Can I have him charged as well?
I'll never understand the so-called business strategy of Dollar Bill Wirtz (Blackhawks owner). How does running a once-great team into the ground make any sense at all? He loses money on the team, refuses to improve it, and refuses to sell. Once his pickled liver finally gives out on him, somebody will have a hell of a lot of rebuilding to do on this team. The sad thing is, they couldn't get the games on TV now even if they wanted to. They'd have to pay the networks to carry them due to hockey's exceptionally low ratings.
Um, no. They like to soak the middle class and rich with taxes (the truly rich have loopholes) so they can buy votes from the poor using "entitlements".
The purpose of professional sports is to separate the fans from their money, so naturally something like this would fit right in. And fans will bitch about it for a while, but next season they'll be right back with their wallets out and ready to pay ever-higher prices.
What do you think Democrats will do once they realize they can use internet taxes for yet more wealth redistribution and "social programs"? All politicians love taxes; just for slightly different reasons.
Microsoft isn't going to sue some open source hobbyist that doesn't really have much to sue for. They will sue if anyone, with open or closed source products, poses an actual threat to their monopoly. It would be impossible to build any type of new software without infringing on some of Microsoft patents. Whether or not they would be upheld in court is a different matter, but it would be enough to prevent a small group of programmers from threatening their cash flow.
Finding more reliable methods of educating kids would be great, but how would the teachers unions make money on it? And if they don't, you can forget about it ever happening.
You're not doing this to keep your career within the company, you're doing it to buy some time while you search for a job with an ethical firm. Of course an unethical boss will try to get you fired for blowing the whistle. The email is just to cover your ass and possibly have grounds for a wrongful termination suit. Career potential in a company like this is zero unless you can actively aid and abet wrongdoing.
The money doesn't go towards $3000 toilet seats. It goes towards $3000 worth of treatment given to an uninsured person, as the hospital is required by law to do. They make up for unfunded charity care by sticking it to anyone who has good insurance.
I've certainly heard this conspiracy theory before. The only problem is that if it were true, lifespans would have been longer 100 years ago, when medical technology barely existed and health care was certainly not big business. But of course this was not the case; people used to die young from diseases that are now easily treatable by health care professionals.
Cisco "security" software is complete and total crap. There are hacks on the internet for just about all of it. They secure a computer about as well as Norton Internet Security. Its only purpose is to make people feel safe and to satisfy auditors, most of which are MBAs who don't even know what a packet is.
The Zune had all the makings of a great music player. Hardware-wise, it has more than the iPod. Its just that Microsoft went out of their way to cripple it with heavy DRM and therefore make it a useless piece of shit. They could have had a great iPod competitor, if only they wanted to.

Around here, the night manager at Taco Bell makes more than that. You are truly being screwed.
Easy to say when you've never been a victim of identity theft. Here's a hint: its a lot worse than having a car or a stereo stolen.
I'd actually prefer an IVR system, assuming it was well-designed and helpful. Unfortunately such a thing does not exist and never will.

It amazes me what people will go through to watch paint drying on TV... oops I mean to watch a baseball game.
Nope

Well it is, isn't it? And if it doesn't, there's always XML 2.0
It reminds me of the Dilbert cartoon about intranet collaboration tools.
I was going to say. What exactly would keep people from just selling their CDs online instead?

Betamax dominated the VCR market as well. In the very beginning, that is.

Aside from the prettier graphics, Vista is more of a downgrade than an upgrade. Especially performance-wise.
