That does sound strange. I've not heard anything like that in the past, but that doesn't mean it's not the case I guess.
My PSU actually came with my Ecube from AMS Electronics. The case is originally from a company called Chyang Fun which I don't really know anything about before purchasing this case/mb/psu.
I do have to say I've been very happy with this machine though. It's rock solid, small, fairly quiet, and looks nice. I'm just not sure what I'm going to upgrade to when I want support for SLI/AMD 64, and a couple of PCI slots in another small form factor pc.:)
I know people say this alot, but I honesly don't get any crashes. As for putting the machine through the ringers, I'm the head of an Unreal Tournament 2004 clan. We play about 2 to 3 hours per night, 7 nights a week. Over the Christmas holiday I was out of town for a week, but actually took my PC with me to game from the house we stayed at. Sad I know, but I'm a gamer!:)
If you're curious, you can check out some pictures of my ECube here
Most people don't even need the 350-500W PSU's they purchase. I run this off of a 220W and have for about two and a half years now...

I've heard that some (many?) credit card companies have written in their fine print that their fraud coverage is only available if there was no other form of fraud coverage throughout the other portions of the purchase. Meaning, if you went through Paypal, the credit card fraud coverage wouldn't be available since Paypal already has coverage for that. It's similar to the way your car isn't covered via homeowners since your car "can" have insurance of it's own.
While I'd agree that there very well may be penalties for it, I'd also be willing to bet the farm that it happens quite a bit. For all we know the contractual agreements may be such that the supplier was able to change components so long as the end product quality didn't suffer.
I'm curious as to how you know Microsoft didn't test them thoroughly. Who's to say that the PSU manufacturer didn't decided to go with a bunch of cheaper components at the last minute to save some cash/make a larger profit?

I manage a team of.NET/SQL Server devs (I was a dev here previously) and now that my time is spent mostly in office type applications, I can generally get through a day using Ubuntu only on my laptop. Wireless works, but only on open access points, so not here at work. Strangely, I don't have to take the laptop to that many meetings right now, so that's not a major problem.
While I can get away with it though, my devs couldn't. I'm certain other departmental staff probably could though.
Where've you been? At any given time UT2004 which isn't a new game by any means has almost double the # of players as Q3. Among the reasons for that are much better movements (dodges, wall dodges, boost dodges, double jumps, etc.), gametypes (bombing run, Mutant, Assault, Double Domination), and vehicles. The gametypes don't necessarily directly map to deathmatch, but people don't generally switch games to switch gametypes.
Q3 was ok when it came out, but it's definitely not "the deathmatch" at this point.
As a gamer I can tell you that their service for the last 11 months has been stellar. I reside in central IL (USA) and rent a gameserver in northern IL. My ping is *always* a steady 24ms in-game, and around 16ms while not in game. The game server is not on their network.
Compare that to the cable access I had that had pings from 40ms to 200+ms, and the only thing the cable company cared about was whether or not I could pull up a webpage.
SBC DSL hasn't been down once yet. They don't complain if you run http or ftp servers, and the guys in the SBC Direct forum are great to work with. At 9k+ feet from the C.O. I wasn't even supposed to be able to get their 3M package, but after a few weeks of testing things with the SBC Direct guys I got on the 3M package and have been on it for about 10 months without issue.
Just because you have an issue doesn't mean their service sucks.
You're new to the business world aren't you? Time to market > Quality of product. Whether they admit it or not, that's the way many sucessful companies work.
Companies want products "now". That means using a new product written specifically for a given task, often times a purchased product. That in turn means no connectivity with existing systems, which leads to yet more logins & passwords. Keeping them in sync can be a nightmare. Even knowing this is the cycle, many companies will continue with their historical way of doing things, yet wonder why their staff need to remember 20 different login/password combinations.
BidPay is one. I'm not saying it's better or worse, I'm just saying it's an alternative. There are others as well. I've used a few of them when purchasing things via Ebay, but I don't remember what most of them were.
I don't either. But, I don't understand what makes my 2 and 3 year olds want to watch the same shows over and over either. Crazy isn't it?
Unfortunately, it's the games I got her started on that keep her locked into using Windows. It's not that I necessarily think Linux is better, but at least right now it's hard to argue that it's not safer from viruses and such. Since her only uses for the PC are the web, email, and these games, if there were equivalent versions of these games for Linux I could switch her immediately.
I couldn't get your link to work, but this one seems to

Yeah, I'm sure that's never happened.

Counterstrike isn't deathmatch, it's about terrorists and the counter-terrorists.
Where is Q3 here or here?

Doesn't that just give the big boys someone to sue that has more money?
You don't suppose the fact that we've went from 14" monitors to 19" monitors had anything to do with the ads seeming less intrusive do you?

I'm still able to DL it at around 450KB/sec, so a torrent might not be necessary.
