Nobody will pay for this technology until the law is passed that every car must have this equipment, and that will not happen in 10 years.
Aside from that, I don't see this as "too wrong". We already give a lot of control to the computer, like ABS. Also, note the article says "will not start", not "shut down". If the engine is already running, the system will not kick in. So to circumvent it, just drink after you start the engine.
I am no fan of Sun, but they did make a lot of contributions (not just open source but things like NFS, NIS, and many other things they invented in the early days).
A technology will have a very hard time being standardized if someone holds the patent. However, in this case and others, nobody realized the patent issue when it was being pushed as a standard. Many years later, when everyone is using it, the patent holder comes out and claims the ownership and starts to collect payments. It's too late to correct the mistake. If the patent holder had been saying so from the beginning, it would not have had a chance to grow such a market value.
I think there should be some laws to restrict such a practice.
The virus is written in Python and converted to Windows executable by standard python tool. I'd imagine it is easy to convert it to a Mac executable as well.
So it's really not about platform security but about platform popularity. If Mac had the same market share as Windows we'd see a Mac worm in this case now.
Then bought YouTube with a discount?
Each time I click a link from it, the browser freezes.
You must have not heard the latest invention from Vista. Everything will finally be fixed.
"You need 4GB if you want optimal performance".
"optimal"??? If you have 8GB, you'll gonna get worse performance?
I really doubt it. It'd be stupid and could cause them much much more in lawsuit. There is simply no stand for them to charge the CC unauthorized.
It has nothing to do with morality. If Amazon wants the money back, they can sue the customers, but I doubt they will.
How about iPoop

Could there be a remote possibility that bloggers now start inventing stories to attract more clicks?
I read it as "(hunting is) more about shooting family and friends than just animal".
No wonder.
Have you listened to the audio? Trust me, listen to it before you make any excuses for them.
It might be news for traditional business, but for hi-tech companies this is old.
I come to office at 11am every day.
How much code you GPL'ed over the years?

I can't understand it. So where is it exactly? Does it overturn the entire N-dimensional world?
TSIA
So you do not have a cell phone?
But we have to act fast.

Title says all
Because I don't want the added lag of hardware en/decryption with every write/read.
You are worried about the cost of encryption/decryption while we are talking about DISKS?

It is a must have yet it doesn't work with FF 2. Anyone knows a working alternative?
I tried FF 2 a few days ago and gave up because of this reason.
Get two computers and share a monitor.
What you said might be true, but it's exactly what some people say about open source.
I have always thought there was still much that could be done to enhance the user's desktop experience, but was unable to come up with much else.
Guess I am now qualified for a position in such a panel.
"Microsoft buys Cisco storage switches which run Linux!!!!!"
So what? Microsoft doesn't care a damn what's running inside.
I mean, give'em a break. FUD could be both ways.
