    What they could have done was to set the DNS:es to point to the same web page regardless of what address that was requested.

    That would have been a lot more informative.

    My opinion is that a religion may not be permitted to claim copyright. So you can have either religion or copyright but not both.

    Will work for most beliefs.

    Scientology is just a way to praise Mammon.

    Currently the finding of the Higgs particle is just that it confirms that the theories are correct and that a new platform has been established. This means that they will continue the same track.

    But I don't think that this will cause new ways to blow things up - you may need something bigger than the CERN accelerator to make things happen.

    But if someone later determines that this wasn't the Higgs particle but another unpredicted particle type then the current model will fall and some new model has to be created.

    Which would make it more right to state "Assembled in the US from domestic and foreign parts."

    But it's interesting that the foreign parts are the high-tech parts and the domestic parts are the low tech parts.

    The handset industry is facing the same problem as the PC industry did during the 80's and we will end up with 2 or 3 large players.

    And also introduce a random delay between 5 and 15 minutes of each transaction. That would definitely make it harder to exploit the system.

    JavaScript isn't the best language around but if you want to write something for web pages then you have to select between it and VBscript.

    And considering how portable VBscript is the choice is easy.

    That assuming that Nvidia has an agreement regarding the ownership of the other parts - what if they don't and are infringing on patents and that's why they are afraid of revealing how stuff works?

    By opening up the hardware platform you will also allow people to create new solutions and applications that utilizes the hardware in new interesting ways.

    But one problem that Nvidia may suffer from is that the division of the Quadra and Geforce cards will suffer so that the professionals select Geforce cards instead.

    As for Nvidia going to sink - it's not likely as long as they actually provide top notch hardware. If they start to lag behind in performance then they will see more problems.

    When you look at many videos on YouTube they are often compressed to a lower quality than the original so ripping them seems to me a way to get VHS quality from something that originally was DVD quality.

    And then you still need to clear out caches for all your browser plugins like Java, Flash etc.

    Otherwise you will still sit there with tracking cookies.

    Let each employee take care of his/her workstation and let the IT staff worry about the servers and data.

    And do a quick prioritization - machines ripe for upgrade anyway can be left behind.

    Realize that today a lot of banks don't handle the physical money - they only handle digital money, so being a bank robber is soon futile.

    To get cash you need to stand in the ATM queue.

    The downside is that robbing a supermarket can give a better payoff.

    Or the first thing you do when you plan to install linux - replace the hard disk with a fresh one. Then put the original one on a shelf until you either run out of warranty or return the computer.

    The dilemma is that the best military force is the one that you don't have to use. So by providing the best possible conditions for them you can actually lower the chance that they will be used. Or if they are used the manner they are used is focused on the key target that allows you to get the upper hand in future negotiations.

    Thinking back if you had the intelligence capability of today back in the 30's you would have been able to detect that Germany was actually planning for war and send in a small elite force to defuse the situation, possibly even without killing people. Before 1933 it may have been enough to take Hitler out of circulation since that would probably have caused NSDAP to lose focus. This because they were very much depending on Hitler as a leader. But it could actually have been enough to seed distrust about the NSDAP in general if it had been done earlier.

    Either you need to find a suitable Boinc project that you can contribute to or lower your standards a bit.

    Just be aware that CUDA programming is useful for many businesses, but the problem is to sell it to them. Of course - you can't just say CUDA, you need to sell it in a way that actually is tasty to the general bean-counter and manager.

    And even doing jobs for the medical industry and defense industry can be a good record to have in your CV. Not all projects are aimed at killing people or animal testing. Some of the applications you may be asked to develop may actually lower the amount of animal testing or kills.

    You can actually get 16:10 displays with 1920x1200 resolution to a decent price. Those few extra pixels actually helps quite a bit.

    But if you are willing to go up to a larger screen, 27" or above then you can get a size of 2560x1440. But you have to pay for it.

    What we really need to do is to blame the HDTV format which forces us to get those letterbox size screens.

    If you discover that you have a bad agreement you can always as a supplier liquidate the company and start a new since the customer had an agreement with the liquidated company it's no longer valid.

    The only problem you will encounter when hiring someone with a serious math degree for software development is when that person has left for another job and you need to change something. Then you need another math geek to understand what was done.
