    No plans for any of the above =) Well, maybe a mortgage.. but I'd make sure it was a good long term investment. But the bottom line for the company is how much they need to pay someone to do the work at an acceptable level of quality.

    Well, you see, I'm not a professional. I'm an 18 year old guy fresh out of HS getting paid $15/hr. to do a job that any respectable "professional" would charge much more for. But I am in fact doing full blown sysadmin stuff, so I get to call myself that :P

    How about we just count the entire music industry a "loss"? Would everyone please just STOP LISTENING TO MUSIC?

    This would solve all our problems. No RIAA, no lables, no artists, NO MUSIC!

    Then Slashdot would be free of all this "Evil RIAA" mumbo jumbo and we can get on to discussing IMPORTANT things, such as the up and comming, breathtaking new release of awk !

    the left nav bar of slashdot has been redesigned!!!

    I started reading Slashdot just several weeks ago and I have to say this is a very welcome change.

    It makes spotting new stories much easier... props to who ever implemented it!

    M$ doesn't have a whole lot to fear from Mac OS X because it *only* runs on PPC.

    But if they developed Office for x86 Linux, Linux popularity on the destkop would rise enough to hurt Windows sales.
