Since we're talking about games on a slow news day, there's also a Babylon 5 game which a lot of people are downloading. It seems to have been done by a Russian guy who is ending the project and is putting out what he's got.

I have the same phone, also on Verizon. I just did a forum search on cellphonehacks.com for any keyword like gpsone, gps, location, and a few others, and can't find any info that definitively tells you how to get that info. When doing it myself through the service menu, it always says "failed". Can you post the URL with the info you're saying that you found on there? Thanks.
"Yet another music service with no Tool." Why is it so hard to sign on this most coveted heavy metal band? I can't seem to find any of the services having their albums, or a good selection of Prodigy for that matter. It's the single reason why I haven't signed up yet.
The real problem is that Steve Jobs mentioned that Apple isn't making any money on the iTunes venture; that they only see profit through the sales of iPods. I'd be interested in knowing what they plan on doing that will change this, as we've all seen too many neato tech ideas go belly up when the investors started wondering where their money went.
Yep, about 8 gigabytes/hour here in the US with ATSC. I keep throwing hard drives in the general direction of my firewire raid, but it keeps saying "Feed me C-Moore!"
I ran into similar problems. I've also got an older 5gig Mac iPod that I was using with Xplay. After I suffered through the win2k bug which replaced core system files and forced me to do a win2k repair install, I got iTunes up and running well. After a short while though, when I plugged my iTunes into another machine and said 'yes' to the 'resync to this machine instead of the existing profile', it suddenly stopped working at all.
I could bring up the iPod and use it as a drive, but no matter what I tried, iTunes would no longer recognize it. When I tried the latest windows flasher, it wouldn't see it either. What finally worked was to bring it to a PC that had never seen any iPods or iTunes before, and using that to flash the iPod back to factory defaults. That finally worked and when I brought it back to my original machine it suddenly saw it and initialized it without a hitch.
I've been holding off on getting a new iPod for exactly the reason that Apple only cares about the first sale. Once they have your money you're dirt to them until the next time they want to sell the big ticket item. Luckily mine will keep going for a while longer now.
Soon we'll have Tivos that are HDTV capable. My worry is that I'll set various programs to record, and later on I'll come home and see that it didn't record those shows that they've decided to flag. Seeing as anyone who has a Tivo is now free from the schedules that broadcasters set, what abuses will take place where advertisers will pay extra to have their ads shown on programs that are flagged, so people can't pre-record to skip commercials.
Well, it turns out that the problem was that I was stupidly doing queries on things every time someone clicked the download page, which killed it all under the/.'ing. Now that I've changed it to an include of a static object, filerush was only down for about 30 minutes, and is now back up, with even more users than before, at even faster speeds... So the php and the bit torrent technology wasn't to blame here.

Mozilla has spared you yet again. :) It's an active X plugin that tries to install itself.
Isn't there a rule that says that slashdot isn't supposed to recommend sites that try to install adware on users' systems when you go there?
