If the nuclear energy industry can be regulated to where it was actually RESPONSIBLE and not worry ONLY about the bottom line (in a perfect world), and we remove the stigma about nuclear energy, then we might be able to have a good thing here.
The bill defines P2P as...software that enables the transmission of computer files or data over the Internet or any other public network of computers and that has as its primary function the capability to do all of the following--
(A) enable a computer on which such software is used to transmit files or data to another such computer;

Here's a zany question that keeps escaping me: Why doesn't the major media networks publicize this? I mean, this would have a MAJOR impact on privacy wouldn't it? There's GOT to be a way to dumb it down to where the general public would understand the implications of all this DRM being hardwired into our next gen hardware.
The market has been declining for years due to high prices, and formulaic content... there is still a possibility record labels may become more innovative and profitable with newer technologies.

Okay, coming from a regular guy.. this is my take on it: If their theory that there are 10 dimensions holds true, then the would not be able to explain the theory until they figure out the what the other 6 dimensions are and how they interact with what we know. There is nothing "capitalist" or "fundamentalist" about McBride--his is a campaign of lies and stock manipulation, and McBride's company is apparently engaging in intellectual property theft.
So I don't believe SCO's statements about their future plans. They are practicing the adage: "diplomacy consists of saying 'nice doggy' while you are looking for a rock".
That reminds me of something about the infamous "War on Drugs". They let the sellers do their job and just go after the users. Like Chris Rock said: "There's NO MONEY in the cure".

There IS a business model working on Kazaa.. You can find multitudes of pr0n to be downloaded and watched for a fee. It's the files that have the yellow icon next to them. Now only if the RIAA would do something like that maybe they'll turn a profit.
I've heard talk that once the RIAA starts suing the general public, that's when there will be a huge public complaint against them. So, what do my fellow Slashdotter's think, will this be another nail in the coffin of the music industry as we know it. Or will they succeed in scaring(sp?) people out of trading files?

I can see an ideal use in the business sector. Depending on the cost and the size of the display, you could use it for your powerpoint presentations without dropping $10,000 for a projector and still get the same effect. For those of you that use your computer for music production with a MIDI keyboard, picture setting up a 2 ft. screen over your keyboard instead of having to keep your head on a swivel to manipulate your programs. Keep an open mind on this.. i'm sure there's plenty of other uses out there.
