I say remove the immigration restrictions altogether. What is it about being an American that entitles you to a job moreso than and Indian? Aside from racism/jingoism, that is.
Apparently there aren't people involved. Just faceless corporations. It's so much easier to raise up some good old fashioned rabble that way, I suppose.
I hate the deviations into politics because political discussions are inevitably self-righteous, and no one is more insufferable than a nerd on a self-righteous rant.
I'd like to know what stretch of logic allows you to claim that because you did something, anyone else would. It's not an effect I'm familiar with at all.
You were most likely modded down because that's one painful damn truth. I'll probably be modded down for not toeing the line. Then somebody might explain how there's a monopoly, dammit, and there just isn't any choice, even though that's not what it means, and some other bullshit. Meanwhile the hardcore FOSSies will work themselves into a lathering frenzy, lashing fiercely at their genitals as they try to get their FSF-approved loads on the biscuit early.
I've worked there. It's run like a dungeon. But that's neither here nor there, because the Post Office is only quasi-governmental. They have to keep themselves afloat, and as such, they're much more efficient.
interstate highway system
Arguably the biggest cause of the pollution that is causing our home planet to slowly become less and less livable. Not an intended consequence, to be sure, but if you want to make a huge mistake, you need a huge plan.
Social Security It's hanging on by a thread, barely pays out enough to live, and eats a huge administration cost that comes on the backs of the working man (Yes, the wage cap on the Social Security withholdings means the wealthiest people don't have to support the system).
national parks They were there, already. Their success is dependant on not doing anything with them. Even the government can handle that, mostly.
The fact that the 360 is number 1 in North America must burn your anonymous bunghole something fierce, since it prompts you to post silly flames over and over. Sorry dude.
Calling Microsoft a monopoly is an interesting psychological insight. What I've gathered people really mean by that is "people should be forced to run Linux instead." After all, the choice does exist, in freely available form at that. It's simply not on most people's radar, and zealot want that changed, by fiat if necessary.
Just my take on it. I'm aware of the court rulings, save me your breathless advocacy.
If you hire someone with a doctorate to do development, 9 times out of 10, woe betide you.

And you feel so secure in your opinion that you ticked the AC box.
...and they act all corporationy.

Don't slow him down, he's on a roll
I'd like to be the first to congratulate you on irrational overreactions.
I'd like to know what stretch of logic allows you to claim that because you did something, anyone else would. It's not an effect I'm familiar with at all.
Can I beg you to stop worrying about it?
Wanna check if a fear of bombs is innate? Set off some explosives near a newborn and see how they react.
I don't know, I've never tried it, but my money is on a total freak-out.

Here's another one for you: if you're correcting other people's English, stop.
I thought those were called pit whores.
Who is this "everybody" you speak of? You're aware that in larger society (like outside Slashdot) RMS may as well not even exist, right?
Can't do that, it'll be down to three comments a story
I thought this was a discussion board, not a mutual agreement circlejerk
Boy did you take a wrong turn at Albuquerque.
All you need is a majority of people to agree with you (and the sales numbers say they don't) and you've actually refuted the point.
That movie is stupid. Yet I've watched it eight times. This does not bode well for me.
No! You can't possibly! If it's in the US it must be inferior to anything European! Go read your Slashdot handbook immediately.

Only for low values of "everyone else."
wrong is wrong, no matter who is doing it
Wrong is subjective, depending on who is interpreting it. To state otherwise is to be the cause of the problem.

You're right, without seeing the claim language it is impossible to make that assumption.
And yet you did, and were modded up for it. Yay Slashdot.
