Apparently it didn't occur to you that people on Slashdot are fairly fed up with the offtopic political rants. There's a whole section for you guys. Go do your thing in there.
I'll go a step further - that whole series is a wash. Maybe RE4 is good, but after the shit Capcom shoveled on the world in the form of that series, I'm not willing to give it a try.
Never understood the tank-driving victims that praised that hackneyed Dawn of the Dead ripoff.
I still struggle to understand why fiber optics are so expensive- the lasers used are fairly cheap and the cables really aren't that complex either and are made in enough quantity.. but I guess since it's not mainstream, it's expensive.
Prices are typically set based on how much the customers are willing to pay. The component cost generally isn't influential aside from forming a price floor. That's the market economy at work. You don't have to struggle, or even understand. Just stand back and let it do its work.
Hyperbole and analogy and all related techniques are used to steer people emotionally past reason into a line of thought desired by the speaker. You don't achieve a more objective analysis of something by attempting to draw unrealistic relationships to emotionally charged topics.
See, the OP responded in a fashion that correctly interpreted what I said to him, so I don't think I missed the mark I targeted. You may have imposed a different target on me to pronounce I missed it, but things don't work that way.
yeah they make a lot of them. so what exactly ms makes a lot of copies of windows
The cheap, out of place shot at Microsoft aside, it demonstrates Intel isn't artificially limiting the market to keep supplies scarce. Since you didn't actually the point, I guess I have nothing to refute in yours.
competitors are generally cheaper.
Actually, prices are pretty close to even. Intel is a little more expensive, but overall the price/performance is about the same, which shows the market is equalizing things. This is an indication that Intel isn't really doing anything wrong. That's not to say it's an absolute indicator on its own, but it is a signpost along that road.
ever increasing in processing power yes but also using more power and needing more elaborate cooling to keep working.
Apparently the Pentium M and Core series have escaped your notice. That's okay, though, it's important to keep the blinders on when you're a fanboy.
hardly, AMD lacks the capactity to take the big name deals and noone else even comes close to INTEL in the pc processor game.
AMD carries a huge amount of the desktop market. Intel wins overall, yes, but being the market leader isn't a punishable offense.
Wow, that's a pretty extreme interpretation. You have to insert a hell of a lot of words into what I said to jump to such a far-off conclusion.
In response to the rest of your post:
Actually I'm totally physically and mentally able. Maybe I'm lucky.
I attempted to phrase carefully so there was no insinuation of prejudice one way or the other. That's why I qualified it as "what looks to be" since I was inferring it, not noticing it directly.
You definitely have a chip on your shoulder, though. I guess maybe that 40 years of learning just isn't enough yet. Keep your chin down though, son, and some day you'll make it to the place you seem to think you are.
And it's not that your an insensitive asshole, per se. You're just a lot more confident than your capabilities should allow. Not that I like paraphrasing Top Gun, but your ego is writing checks your mentation can't cash.
Forgive me for saying so, but it seems like you had a preordained conclusion and you're just, well, twisting the article just so to support it. Actually, saying your twisting it is overstating the case, because you're really just stating it supports your case without demonstrating how.
If I'm wrong and you actually have some connection aside from what looks to be personal prejudice against people with disabilities, feel free to post it.
There was no point to refute, since it was irrelevant to the discussion. I can throw out conversation derailing insults just as well, but it doesn't mean I've contributed in a meaningful way that deserves positive attention.
And here's where the market realities start to come clear: neither of the sites you mentioned are hurting for traffic, so apparently the limited client functionality problem isn't really excluding a significant part of the market. Actually, in my opinion, since it excludes the low end it's a benefit - why appeal to people who display a propensity to not spend money?
Maybe I'll put it this way, then, and you'll see my point a little better: Sure, you could train any monkey to code for you, but you don't even have to train a jackass to make a manager out of him.
Based on the PhDs that I've met, I'm not terribly impressed with your sister. Maybe she oughta just go all the way and start selling her snatch.
Welcome to Slashdot. We're a technology website, populated by luddites who decry anything new as useless, obvious, or better done by Richard Stallman.

Oh, I spend all my raucous laughter on the people who like 'playing' those melodramatic soap operas.
OMFG! People broke the law in a highly public fashion and were arrested for it? The US is going straight to hell, I say.
Care to elaborate? Your comment is anonymous and fairly generic.

Wow, did I piss off a communist? Does someone want to keep the mechanics of the free market under wraps? The secret's out, comrade.
The fact that you were modded flamebait makes me wonder which fool computerfucker got points today.

can you imagine wanting to fuck every single person you meet
Even if I were bisexual I'd still have a 'No fat chicks' rule.
I've always pictured the color of OS zealotry as a sort of bright flamingo pinkish hue. Make sense to you?
Spoken like someone who thinks he would still have to accomodate Netscape 4.
So tantalizingly close to on-topic. Excellent zealotry, A+.

The fact that it's hyberbole means it's not an excellent summation, by definition. A summation sticks to fact. Hyperbole inflates it.
What you mean to say is "I know this isn't real, but I agree with it, so mod it up, please."

I feel compelled to post this:
Would that make you an Al-Gayda?

Your attitude as displayed in this comment, while technically correct in every aspect, is functionally useless. Are you a consultant?
