If the stories were in any way original, I wouldn't have this problem of immediate boredom. What I don't like is that game stories never rise above the sort of tripe you can find on daytime tv.
Just as a personal tip to you - getting angry with people doesn't help to make your point, and it certainly doesn't bring anyone to your point of view. Mainly, it just gives people a reason to dismiss you, instantly.
Interesting. I have a Windows laptop, and a PowerBook, and I have exactly the opposite experience. Strangely enough, the PowerBook sometimes comes up quickly, then immediately goes back to sleep on me before I can do anything.
The only point you've really made is that Slashdotters generally participate freely in the great feedback loop of intelligence lessening being seen all over the internet. People are only interested in hearing those who agree with them. The moderation system here is just an interesting technological expression of that fact.
The official position of Slashdot, as an organization, has not been expressed.
You're absolutely right. I wish I could say something more substantive, but you've pretty much covered it. Here's hoping that enough people realize it.

This isn't as clever as you think it is, nor is it really that funny. If it were written in a voice that was even close to George's, it would be a lot better, but it reads like a smarmy socialist is talking, and that just doesn't work. Take it back to the typewriter and polish it up.
Let's not get emotional over the terrible phrasing in the summary, please. That wasn't a personal attack on you in any way, and your response is markedly extreme given the situation.
As a native English speaker with an excellent grasp of the language, I concur with the original poster. "Tripling of poor harvests" is needlessly ambiguous, and requires additional information to make sense.
We're taking computers away from you Jolt cola swilling antisocial techno-luddite TWATS and there's nothing you can do about it.
No you aren't. You depend on us to make things work. Your ability to click links and pick jarring background colors for your whiny blog in no way makes you technically capable.

It's not just the custom compiled media player. I also mounted an extra wide tailpipe to my fan for smoother air flow.

You haven't played any recent FPSes, I take it. Low detail is not a description that has come to mind recently.
Oh yeah? Fuck you!
(kidding, and I think it probably needed to be pointed out.)
Don't get too busy appropriating the rhetoric of those you oppose. It's been the classic Democrat mistake for upwards of 20 years now.
I do agree with your sentiment, however.
It may have been a Freudian slip, but I'd have to say the parent described MFC programming in an accurate fashion.
Haters wanna hate?
I guess that's a bit flip, but I think it sums things up nicely.
Apparently, you think you can somehow define the fickle taste of teenagers? Why care about such things?
The article mentions the deployment cycle, but the 24 period is an invention of the submitter, apparently, so your quick answer also seems... off.
So they'll have to redeploy every 24 hours?
I think by the time you explained it, he got it.

It also smelled remarkably better, until the planes took to the air again.

What ever are you talking about? The Emperor is wearing the finest set of clothes ever woven!
After reading that, I think it's safe to say he won't be getting any plum gigs from security companies when he gets out of prison.
So if you hook this up to a Windows box, does it blow up like the androids on the old Star Trek?
I used to feel a twinge of guilty conscience when I was entertained by the mentally diseased, but that's really mellowed out as I've grown older.
Thanks for the laugh, my special friend.
Wasn't it great when you finally got the +4 Bag of Heating, though? My tips went through the roof.
