I would consider a math course, one which the math department teaches and is listed in their catalog.

Now, I personally believe that everything is mathematics. I think that you would be hard pressed not finding any subject that cannot be explained in mathematical terminology. Math and logic are the bases for our communication. If you want to look at another subject, say Physics. It is just applied mathematics.

I agree with you that French views are not everyone elses views, but...

There happens to be this guy named Napoleon, who just happened to be French. I am not an expert on the Napoleonic Age, but from what I remember, he was not a nice man at all (in fact, I seem to remember him slaughtering thousands on a beach after promising them that he wouldn't). I don't see any countries affected by Napoleon telling people to ban French Culture. And if you have ever seen Napoleon's Tomb in Paris you would see how the French worship this man. He is their hero. It is not like when the Russians tore down the statue of Stalin.

  24. Re:Great. Now prove the two are connected. on Uncensored Media Considered Harmless · · Score: 1

I don't think that that is what he was trying to say. The point that he was making, (in my humble view) was that even though it appears that violence in the media, eg. movies, music, games, has increased, actual, physical violence appears to have decreased. He is not stating that because there is more media violence there is less physical violence, but that more media violence has not caused an increase in physical violence. That is what GWB was making a comment about, that the more violence we are subjected to the more violent we become.

In fact, if you look back at history as a whole, it seems to me that we are living in a very non violent world as a whole. Can you imagine life during the Roman Empire when they went on their killing spree, or perhaps dealing with Atilla the Hun, who apparently just killed for fun. It seems to me that our wars are getting smaller and more isolated. But that is my opinion. You can ask my ex girlfriends how many times they think that I am right. ;)

  25. rediculus on Amazon Sued For Patent Infringement · · Score: 2

This is even more silly than all of these lawsuits about linking. I do not think that these companies realize that the whole start of the Internet was because of information sharing. The one thing they all want to stop. Maybe they should get off this toy and start a new one if they do not like the rules here.
