It would appear that they are trying to elimate annoying ringing, but how many cell phones make a noise when reception is lost ? Mine makes a periodic beeping sound, so are we just trading ringing for beeping ?

Its ironic because the best webpage to help me understand why blogging shouldn't be included in searches is infact a blog itself.

Actually http://googleblog.blogspot.com/2005/09/googlebombi ng-failure.html is the link you are looking for. It is a page written by googles 'blog' on the reason George W. Bush shows up as the top link when search 'terror'. It is also fairly ironic that you suggest banning blogs, when it is infact google's blog which gives the most insight into this situation.

This sounds like a good idea, that is if ISP's care to know, however on a weekly basis maybe, 10% of my legitimate emails will be filtered into the "spam"box. 10% is a fairly large percentage, large enough to make the report almost useless.

that seems pretty small to me compared to the daily dosage the planet gets from the sun - although I do understand there's one hell of a difference between solar radiation and vaporous uranium - the latter's toxic as well as radioactive, iirc.

However.. the earths magnetic field, stratosphere and all of that other junk up there in the sky protects us from most of the most harmful damage of the sun, whereas 5KG of fissionables wouldnt be Dilluted by the earth's atmosphere!

  11. Environmental Consideration on Chainsaw-wielding Robotic Submarine · · Score: 5, Interesting

Sure this situation sounds like a win - win situation, but considering that most of the hydropower reservoirs are a minumum of several years old, many underwater animals have built their habitats among those submerged trees, and what will they do if we chop them down ? .. we've already made this mistake on the surface... should we do in the ocean as well ?
