Story tellers take possession of their stories because they have a personal attachment to them (and a monetary attachment, but that is usually secondary). If you wrote a successful book series you wouldn't want just any moron with an idea for a video game or movie come up and use your stuff any way they saw fit - you would want control over the development.

Does anyone else wonder why Sequoia seems to think it's alright that the machine can't count the correct number of democrat/republican votes (and that this is a KNOWN DESIGN FLAW), but gets the total number right? The whole point of a vote is not to know the total number of voters... you want to know the number of voters on each side. If their machine can't figure that out correctly, and they were fully aware of that, why did they bother selling the machine? (and who the hell was stupid enough to buy it?)

/.'s resident NewYorkCountryLawyer has said in several discussions I've read through that the **AA's cases just won't hold up in a criminal case. As a civil case the 'preponderance of evidence' required to prove someone infringed a copyright amounts to practically anything (and most of the data collection is illegal anyway). A criminal case on the other hand requires a jury to be absolutely positive that someone broke a law. IMO if laws like these come into existence, America will very shortly remember that there is in fact such a thing as a jury veto.

However, we must note that you did nothing to prevent these actions, such as leaving a sign up in your bathroom saying "Please don't piss all over my bathroom," or install piss-detecting sensors that can stop someone from pissing in your bathroom. We are sorry, but because of your failure to comply with the Freedom to Pee act of 2007, we'll have to shut off your power. On Building Seven; two massive burning buildings next door fell over right next to it. Debris fell on Seven, and started multiple fires. The fires didn't get put out due to the sprinkler system electrical failure and the FD having no water pressure. Two buildings next to building Seven sustained damage from THAT collapse. Controlled demolitions don't tend to cause that kind of collateral damage (a community college that is being deconstructed now and Verizon building that cost over $1bn to fix). Also, who with the power to blow up the building benefited from blowing it up?

My former roommate had a Wii, and honestly after the first week of playing with it, we went back to our PCs. This guy was a big Nintendo fan, owned every previous console and played all the in-house developed games. He couldn't bring himself to play Zelda: Twilight Princess or Warioware Smooth Moves (which prior to purchase he had claimed were completely awesome). After I played both games to the point of boredom we really quit doing anything with the poor little guy except surf the internet (YouTube TV was a fun hobby for a while) and play the Virtual Console games, which we could've used an emulator for on our PCs (and not have to wait for Nintendo to release a title we want to play, at that). So from experience I can say we didn't play that thing nearly as much as we thought we would before we bought it.

The B Button is on the backside of the controller, where your index finger would be gripping the controller.

The other set of buttons is actually near the bottom of the remote-style. What you're supposed to do is turn it sideways and hold it like a normal game controller. That puts the D-pad on the left, and A and B on the right, with Start/Select in the middle. It's the original NES controller now.
