(For every Cube Apple produces, Microsoft is happy to come back with a Windows ME or MS Passport. At least with Apple, the flagship OS doesn't kick you in the jewels every time you sit down to use it. ^_^)
But what about folks on the bottom of the stack? $300k seems a bit steep for a remote-controlled, revolving street-level apartment. ^_^
"hey look honey, it's the gas station again!...there's the liquor store... yep.. alright! gas station again!"
I think it's pretty funny...

That the Segway didn't get back up at the end of that video clip... ^_^
While metafont and TeX get most of the press, his work on Concrete Mathematics and the Art Of Computer Programming series place him at, or very near, the top of my list of "software development giants."
He's informed the work of many thousands, and continues to produce absolutely brilliant code. I think that in fifty years, people will still have volumes of AOCP close at hand for reference, and the developers of WinXP will be a footnote in some History of Failed Semi-Functional Operating Systems.
For me, it's more about having the music I love with me, whenever I want it. I'm a big fan of 90's alternative/indie music, and I have two of the biggest Case Logic cases crammed full of CDs. Am I going to heft those around with me all the time? No way...
But with my 'Pod, I can be listening to Mudhoney or whatever, and when it reminds me of another song/band/genre that I haven't listened to in a while, I can literally find and play it in four or five clicks. (Instead of flipping through sixty-odd pages of discs.)
I love Japan... The only people in the world driven enough (or wierd enough) to build something like this!
I wonder what that curved glass face-shield is for? It would be pretty easy to build a heads-up display projector into that column running up behind the driver's head, and display speed, heading, GPS map, etc. for the driver! (I suddenly want one, very badly! ^_^)
Alright, so Caltech made a special pipe transfer a hojillion bits in a few seconds, shattering all previous records. This sort of thing will become exciting for me when Comcast pulls up in front of my house with a spool of fiber...
My favorite part of Titanic was when the water creature came up through the hole in the side of the ship, and then DiCaprio shoved that pipe bomb into the endoskeleton's ribcage, and then the whole boiler room came down on top of them, and it still got back up and came after Winslet... And then the Alien jumped out and stabbed her with that wicked tail...
(..maybe I'm getting confused with another Cameron property?)
If anyone's interested, the tires on the new Batmolawntractor appear to be Super Swamper TSL/SX off-road tires, in the 44" range. They're very popular tires for hardcore rock rigs.
Now you know. (And knowing, in this case, is halfway to redneck! ^_^)
I've been looking, and I can't find anything either.. Sorry man. I'm sure somebody's working on a SonicStage hack for Mac users, but nothing concrete yet.
As an aside, I have to second the question above, why did you buy a minidisc player? I'm sure that as a/. reader, you're familiar with your other options; it seems like unless you got a -really- great deal on it, an eBay'd iPod would have been a better choice.
Oh well. Good luck with that, and enjoy your new toy. _
Actually, I guess I'm more Constitution Party than Republican...
But Windows still sucks!

*sigh* And here I was trying so hard to save some money this semester...
Ba-dum! Csssh...

Sort of like this? (From the original patent application... ^_^
That all depends... How long does it take you to build a pigtail?

Now, if I can just find someone to extract this stupid fish...
Linux on Gameboy? Definitely. HGTTG movie news? Sure. Stupid Nipponese Smell-Tron? Hell no...

HDZ: $2900 (turnkey, etc.)
DIY: ~$1400 (depending on SATA RAID controller.)
If anybody's really that interested in a turnkey solution, I'll gladly set on up for... say, an even $2000? ^_^

Gee, that must have hurt! Is it still there?
(..maybe I'm getting confused with another Cameron property?)
This has all the makings of another another DivX story... (crappy PPV sceme aside, of course. ^_^)
Screw negative calories! I want a commercially-available Skittlebrau!
What is this... "football" you speak of? Perhaps a new distro?
If the former, haha! If the latter, congratulations... I guess. A somewhat dubious honor..
Cheers!
