    I don't believe that volume of pages is really a relevant metric to be used in the case of search results. With an infinite number of pages the real metric comes down to relevance.

    As a person who worked in the advertising business side, I can say wholeheartedly that truth in advertising is a complete misnomer. The whole concept of advertising rejects the idea of truth. I don't sound bitter do I?

    If you can find some way to get a better return rate without putting the cost onto the consumer, you have yourself an entire marketing industry to slay. If you decide to go the way of spam which is forcing their production costs upon the consumer, you have stepped over a line that is immoral. You can argue morals pretty in depth when you speak of advertising, but these business practices step over a line that society as a whole sees as repugnant.

    Physical spam is bought and paid for by the companies that send it. If a company has to fork over cash to get a return, it will have to justify that cash outlay in terms of ROI. The same theory that goes for the billboards and Race car sponsorship. A spammer is not the one who spends the capital to transfer the message to you, it is you who is burdened with cost of recieving said message. Junk mail creates employment from the ad layout guy to the printer and to the delivery channel. Spam is an end run around the advertising practices that have stood the test of time.

    Never thought of that. It would be in everyones benefit for AOL to put their stuff on half of a CD and leave the other half as an empty session. People would actually use them and from AOL's point of view - everyone would have a copy of AOL intentionally not thrown out because they would have good data on it. How can this idea be pitched at AOL?

    It works - that's been my big thing. You tend not tinker with them as much as with a Windows machine. It is put together as one piece and works great just as it is. You pay a bit more for elegance.

    C'mon now, sh*t happens. If you are going to dig up the road, things are going to break fromthe old infrastructure. It's a good story for the 6:00 news, but things like this are going to happen anyway. It's only because the name Verizon is involved and they get footage of a car in a hole, that this is newsworthy.

    Good point except for the fact tha MS is supposed to check. They are the ones that are being high and mighty on the subject. Remember that MS has leagues of lawyers both checking and enforcing IP and using any resources within their power to enforce. This is a big egg-on-face fiasco. I don't double check royalty-free stuff but I am not distibuting software in the same scale as MS nor have the same resources and rightuous indignation.

    The odds of Joe sixpack going the extra step of making a 20 character key is not good. WiFi setups are all the rage and now can all be broken into even after you spend an hour telling someone that they have to use WEP.

Now if there was some way to get them to invvest in other things that would move society forward and negate all the bad mojo they had.     I have been to the site and found no business plans. there is no actual content. You are supposed to post the business plan of your failed company I assume. Can't see any reason for somebody with a failed business to post their business paln that didn't work. I don't even think this plan would have worked in the nineties.
