Have you looked at hiring a cd ripping service like MusicShifter? A lot of these places will rip you collection for cheap because they have massive digital libraries of pre-ripped music. Once they receive your cds instead of actually having to rip all 300 of them there is a good chance that 250 or so are already stored in their library resulting in a relatively cheap and fast service ($.79 per cd from Music Shifter).
(I'm in know way affiliated with any cd ripping services - I've just heard good things about them.)
Dr. Emmett Brown: No no no, this sucker's electrical, but it requires a nuclear reaction to generate the 1.21 gigawatts of electricity I need.
So... what the article is saying is that Dr. Brown used the electricity from the lightning strike, instead of plutonium, to generate the nuclear reaction to generate the electricity to power the fluxcapacitor?
... on a few things. Although Xbox Live is a step in the right direction online gaming is still superior for PC gamers. I can't imagine pulling off something like WoW on a console and it being successful perhaps sometime in the future but not right now or with the next generation of games.
Another issue is the input interface. If you take the example of FPS games... a mice is still superior to any dual-analog console controller in terms of quickness and accuracy.
To truly pull away hardcore PC gamers to the consoles the console developers need to consider these issues. There are probably more I'm missing and it's probably from all that damn Jaegermeister I drank last night.
For those of you who are not a fan of the Simpsons or don't have all 350+ episodes memorized by heart this is a reference where the school bullies (Jimbo, Nelson and others) make a note on their Newton to "Beat up Martin" (Martin Prince one of the nerdiest and smartest kids in school) using the Newton Stylus. After writing in the phrase... the Newton interprets the Stylus input as "Eat up Martha." In frustration, the bullies throw the Newton at Martin which hits him in the head.
In other news Microsoft countered by saying that after conducting an extensive poll of it's thousands of employees that "tabbed browsing" was not something that internet users wanted.
They also added that most Softies said that 1 "tab" would be enough for anyone.
If a packet hits a pocket on a socket on a port, And the process is interrupted as a very last resort, And the address of the memory makes your browser say "Abort!", Then the socket packet pocket has an error to report.
If your cursor finds a malformed link followed by a dash, And the Active-X code makes your priveleges clash, And your data is corrupted because the security is trash, Then your situation's hopeless and your system's gonna crash!
Which recording labels are going to sign on with this service? What good is an online music store going to be if a large percentage of the major record labels decline to participate because of the lack of DRM?
What I did is set up sshd + VNC server on my box at home then had my router forward the SSH port and customized the firewall on my box at home to open the SSH port. Then put SSH (putty) and VNC clients (both standalone executables so no install rights necessary) on my workstation. I have VNC tunnel through SSH so everything is all nice and encrypted and bingo... just browse the net using your the browser on your home box instead using your workstation to browse. The only visible traffic on the network is encrypted SSH traffic (is that not allowed where you work?) and since all the browsing is done on your box at home getting a worm/virus/trojan/malware/spyware/etc. won't get you in trouble at work.
For more info on how to configure VNC to work through an SSH tunnel just google for SSH and VNC and you can find some online tutorials. A little tricky... but considering your reading this on/. it should be pretty easy.

I think the _REAL_ question is...
Yes, but how does pr0n look on it?
You're right it must be you... because they all look strange to me.

It all makes sense now?
With Samsung just coming out with their 16 GB flash drives would it be crazy to think a 64 GB Nano would be far off?
Great... this guy's web server survived _HURRICANE KATRINA_ and now you go and a post a link to it on slashdot.
Nice...
My guess would be... "Easy money baby."

Or +1 Insightful as it does bear some light on the poor Stylus input to text recognitions on the old Newtons.

God, I'm such a nerd.
I can picture the engineers over at Nasdaq...
(a huge server farm where the racks are shaking violently and making strange noises)
Engineer1: I need a young priest and an old priest!
Engineer2: The power of Christ compels you!

Even though it'd be contact free most /.'rs still probably wouldn't be able to get it.

A "news" article saying something bad about Bill Gates on Slashdot?!
Will wonders never cease????
Penny Arcade dubs WOW "Game of the Year."
Penny Arcade blasts WOW for technical difficulties and discusses recinding "Game of the Year" status.
Blizzard pulls game from shelves as part of an attempt to fix the technical difficulties.
I'm not saying they were the sole reason for Blizzard's actions but I'm sure they played a role... A LOT of gamers frequent P-A.

"Well you see, Ms. Pacman has a bow on her head, and that's basically it."
