    Why not Coffee?
    Coffee was a programming language too. Seriously. I havs some code on punch cards along with a printout to prove it, from a quick glance, it seems sorta like PASCAL. I think it was used on Burroughs Mainframes, although it could have been on IBMs.

    Yes, but if you solved the first 3 years worth of problems seeing it costing 80k per problem, then the next problem would only cost you the power needed to run the machine, your 38M is already paid off.

    Thats one of MS's main problems with support -- their 'end of life'. I know companies that will still support a version of their product from over 15 years ago.

    He basically is saying that MS backs Windows, and when given the example from the EULA that says they don't, he just starts trolling on linux, saying the 'makers' don't back it. He's never posted on usenet or used irc, has he?

    It also covers press-and-hold record buttons, so I guess this would cover the buttons on old tape recorders that you press the button once and the button holds itself in [it is held in] and then press it again to release......

    The multi-page-feed could occur due to using a thinner paper, usually the 'recycled' general-use paper is slightly thinner and has this problem [it is more apparent on ink-jets usually, but lasers suffer too].

    The non-feeding envelopes may be due to a buildup of toner on the roller near where they get pulled in, or due to the jam-down gadget you have installed [making the roller not touch the envelope feed area].

    I have known this for years. My last 8 systems were 'small business' purchases [only one of them is a Dell, so its not just dell], and it is amazing how much you save sometimes. As long as you know what you want, and how much you want to pay for it, its all good. Also, sometimes you can get a better price just by using ye-olde telephone. Just ask them for a price on a system and read off all of the details that you just selected on the website, see what they say.

    My Amiga 3000 [base, no PPC] still seems to do most of its processes just as fast as my P4/3.057 HT machine, if not faster.
    The only thing my P4 machine actually does faster is 3d rendering in Lightwave, [which requires windows] and it has a completely different rendering method now than the Amiga version did, even the difference between older PC versions and the current one are noticable.

    I think the real issue here, is that in some countries, you can use a competitors trademark for comparisons, or if you are a retail store, you can simply use the trademarks of items that you sell in your advertising, in other countries, you cannot use trademarks at all without consent.

    For section (4):
    My Dell Inspiron 5150 notebook pc is electronic [meets first criterium] (and others could be argued), data processing device [there's criterium #2], and it is used by me as a handheld calculator (I hold it in my left hand and type with the right hand, ask anyone at my College that has a class with me) [FAILs criterium #3] -- NO CHARGING

    Now then:
    My notebook also meets (f)(1) [battery] and (f)(2) [I guess this screen counts].

    My telephone is electronic [criterium 1], performs storage functions [criterium 2], and is not a typewriter/typesetter/portable hand held calculator [criterium 3] includes one or more licquid crystal displays AND circuit boards. Hmmm... So my Dell Inspiron 5150 is exempt under section (4), can be added in later, but my telephone is not exempt in any way, shape, or form......

    My friend got a call one day (about 6 or 7 months ago) from the US Census Bureau, the guy calling was in INDIA. The Census Bureau is outsourcing their people!!

    Also, if they ask if you are 'in charge of the phones', tell them "I don't have a phone." If they ask for the 'resident' or 'homeowner', tell them you live in a cardboard box [and that you don't have a phone], modify this as needed to suit what they ask.

    Or you can build from source and put the key where you want it [encrypted even]. But also, if the user has access to the machine to look in the registry, what good is password protecting a remote access routine going to do?

    re: the first one http://www.levenez.com/lang/history.html it is BASIC, not Basic. Also, there was MS-BASIC, GW-BASIC, BASICA, Apple BASIC, MS QBASIC, MS QuickBasic, QuickBasic Extended/PDS. Also, they list JScript, and not VBScript; PHP and not ASP. Also, this one is missing Rexx. http://people.mandrakesoft.com/~prigaux/language-s tudy/diagram.pdf seems to have some data that is off to the right of the page, including what appears to say "PostScript".
