Jesus your comment is so rude that I almost didn't reply.

You're playing the old open source saw of "blame the user."

No, I'm not. I'm laying the blame at MS's feet. The users choose them because there is no alternative.

You go on to implicitly argue that if the user would just go with all the OOo native formats then there wouldn't be any problems.... It's classic economics. Perhaps you can take that next year when you enroll in college.

I never implicitly argued anything. Even admitted MS office was better. Oh and I've already finished college, thanks.

What are kerning problems? You realize that MS not releasing their format is what causes the problems you are having, right? It is a big fucking deal. Why should MS own the data you created with their product (that you paid for)? When they hide formats that is what they are trying to do.

I think that your opinion, while not inaccurate in a lot of ways could have been stated better with less profanity and more constructive criticism. Why are you so hostile when all someone wants to do is create a free office suite? You don't have to use it.

I do agree that MS Office is currently better than OO.org as far as features though.

Really? It's not that way in Canada. My uncles are custom harvesters and they hire many people on short notice to do seasonal work (not sure if that makes a difference). They have had truck drivers on drink/drugs cause accidents a few times (though no one was ever killed but once it was close). Not once has their business ever suffered more than a temporary setback because of it (ie they had to find another employee). Come to think of it they have had problems while doing custom work in Kansas and again nothing happened then either.

What country/state are you in? Are you certain that there is a law requiring potential employers to do drug tests there?

If I'm ever charged with a computer crime, I would hope that the judge understands at the very least that a website was a document-like thing that resided on another computer that one could read with a web browser. I hope that he also understands that sometimes these "websites" differ from regular print media in that the reader can often interact with them in some ways that are dictated by the creators of the website. This knowledge should be had by anyone that has read even the most basic explanation of how the internet works. Which I would hope that the judge has examined in preparing for the case.

If on the other hand the case depended on understanding that I had used the fact that you didn't check your inputs to some perlscript, and that allowed me to get access to all of the customers' credit cards in your database but only those who shared my surname... Why is it whenever something cool comes along someone has to say "the money could be better spent blah blah blah"? Just because you don't see a need for it doesn't mean that people shouldn't spend money on it, it's not like we don't have enough to spend on this and fuel alternatives. Besides, if you are so sure the world is going to end, why spend money on educational systems etc at all?
