The 68000 came out in 1980. It and Motorola weren't hobbled by "100% backwards compatibility" something Intel was with their dysfunctional relationship with Microsoft. But that aside, sure the 386 fixed some, but not all, of the issues with x86 assembly. It would take many more years to do even a little bit better (no pun intended). If Motorola hadn't PPC/mobile abandoned the 68000 architecture, who knows where we'd be? (Hindsight is 20/20, but we're projecting too much to think Motorola wouldn't have been at least a player in the 64-bit world and beyond...)
It's not bad on the PS4. And it's cheap-cheap. For those of us who dislike windows with a passion, it's a good alternative, and I think the interface works well with the dualshock.
It wasn't that bad... The "pouch" size was a bit too small... which could lead to the tedium of moving things to and from the site you are working on....
I of course only paid $18 for the game, so I'm getting my money's worth and then some. But I can see by your sig that explaining that YMMV and this sort of thing is subjective is an uphill battle.
I think the point the AC was making was that people are still enthused about a computer that came out in 1985. (ish?) I still have my Amiga I bought used with the 512K expansion pack (with the battery removed of course.) Lots of overtime at the local car dealership washing cars for that one.:)
There is no such enthusiasm for the 8088's. Most of the support those old behemoths get are from the sheer number of them rotting in storage buildings and at the local Goodwill. The Amiga's like a vintage automobile. It's got a loyal following, a bunch of 3rd party support and enthusiasts, and a wealth of games and apps that were truly ahead of their time. Thanks to Commodore's board, the Amiga died prematurely, IMHO.
I admit, I only use Amiga through emulation these days, but I did all my college work on my A500 up until I found Slackware Linux my senior year.:)
I use Linux, so when it comes to gaming, I have a limited pool of games (but it is getting better.) So I use consoles because I don't want, or need a Windows computer. I'm not knocking anyone who wants to use Windows as their main OS... I just don't. I have issues with Microsoft's direction, and that's precisely why I didn't buy an XBox One this generation. (That and I wasn't sure if they had gotten ANY better at hardware QA, thankfully they did.)
That's not to say the XBox One is inferior or silly. It's just where I'm coming from in these days of my older and slower butt not being able to hang with the younger gamers.:) I'll still buy my Elder Scrolls and Fallout games, but I'll do it on console if at all possible. Even if my chosen console (PS4) doesn't allow mods in Fallout 4.:)
From the other articles on the subject, it appears that the impact to the bottom of the truck body has to be pretty good, like hitting a big rock, or something similar. This, coupled with the sensor failure setting, is a problem, but the Dodge pickups are like most trucks on the road, built a bit better than the flimsy cars. Meaning, the quality of manufacture may vary slightly, but a truck is first and foremost meant to be a truck.
In the interim, don't hit giant rocks in your Ram, and THEN roll over.
Are you voting for Wu or something? Honestly, this "it's a front for harassment" misses the entire point of the actual gamergate issues, while addressing none of them. Were there assholes using the hashtag to troll? Yep. Just like there are trolls on Slashdot.
Fifthly, moderation at/. has recently turned to shit. Insightful/informative posts are often ignored, hateful/factually incorrect comments are promoted.
This is why I rarely read/. anymore. It has become a haven for stupid that used to be weeded out by moderation. I miss the good old days.;)
Just do like I did.... buy the smart TV and never let it on the network.:) I bought a really cheap Sony (It works even in fighting games on my consoles) and disabled the "net" features.
Every once in a while it wants to "check for updates." I just say no....
He didn't stop tweeting. 'His wife' tweeted once, and a few minutes later, he started back on his rant, but added about the "assault" he endured a few minutes ago.
Sorry, I was reading the feed when this happened. And by gum, the gif didn't play automatically for me.;) The timing's suspicious for most people who witnessed the previous and post-seizure tweetstorms.
It takes a special kind of asshole to think that it's blaming the victim here. He has epilepsy. He knows he has epilepsy. Thanks to the Internet, everyone including your grandma knows he has epilepsy. If he was PRUDENT, he would have disabled ANIMATION AUTOPLAY. It's disabled by default on my browser and I don't have epilepsy. If he clicked "play" and got a seizure, well... the "victim" deserves to be blamed.
That being said, I doubt it was the same level of intentional harm that has happened in the past. Because Kurt has been trolling Twitter for quite a while, poking people to get a response. Very nice and journalistic of him, to be sure. Note that this asinine behavior from a douche like Kurt doesn't excuse the specific attempts to harm him, this one seems simply a case of him being already unhinged after his appearance on the talk show and his 40-tweet rant about the CIA and Trump. Seeing the tweet with the words "you deserve a seizure" made him go finally full retard and threaten everyone with jail and fines and beatings because he was feeling butthurt.
I read the whole thread in real time, so spare me the bullshit, AC. I know he's milking this for sympathy after his rant and implosion on Tucker Carlson's show.
If you have epilepsy, you should really turn that off.
I use twitter in my browser and it doesn't autoplay anything.:) If Kurt wasn't such a man-child, he'd have done the same thing.... but his meltdown after his meltdown on Tucker Carlson's show means he is lashing out to people who saw his meltdown.
I'd love for nuclear power to take off. But every time people try to put it forth, there are a squintillion (that's a lot) naysayers crapping all over the concept. They talk about anti-AGW people being thick-skulled.... Try telling a Green that Nuclear Power is a vastly superior and cleaner alternative.
I game quite nicely on a Core 2 Quad. Of course I don't really have any desire for VR, though. It's just not my cup of tea. I've not done FPSes since Quake 1. Quake 2 made me nauseous. (Something about that engine that made me want to hurl.) Nothing beats Galactic Civilizations 2 (or Alpha Centauri) for me.:) I like the "new, shiny" Civs, but the old school stuff is just great for me. And couple that with Worms:Armageddon and I'm in turn-based heaven. Still, I don't begrudge people wanting the latest and greatest. I did it for years. I just didn't upgrade after a while and I haven't noticed. (Granted, I run Linux and Windows 7.) I even turn off the eye candy for each.
One day I'll head back to eBay and order myself another 5 year old CPU. (as I stare at my Athlon running XP... heh.) Surprising what you can get for $30 on eBay...
The current "Double Stuft" Oreos are merely the original amount of filling re-packaged. Back when Double Stuft was actually double, they did cost a little more, but today, they're nothing more than the original Oreo for the sucker with a short memory. Sort of like the size of candy bars and soup cans. So these asshats couldn't have picked a worse metaphor this side of "a series of tubes."
I got the extra 512k for Druid 2. You could have music and sound effects if you upped your fast ram. :)

It failed because Moto abandoned it to go mobile. Sometimes the crappier product wins. (x86)...

That's why you got one of these:

No ram issues. :) And with an A500+, you got 1MB of chip ram. :)
I knew Will Smith was good with the ladies... but FPGA's? No wonder he's a Scientologist. :)
680x0 Assembly was elegant, intuitive, and a crap-ton better than Intel's nonsense. :)

They prefer the non-offensive term "Fanny Bandits".
Thanks, Hillary. The "vast right-wing conspiracy" is at it again, huh?

Yeah, that'll work. It'll never be abused. :)
I'd rather not give the government the legal authority to remotely screw me over for "internet safety" or some such nonsense.
That's why I don't believe in imaginary property. (ProTip: Neither did the Founders.)
