Why would they want to close down a company that produced spyware? Wouldn't that take away from the use of their antispyware tools. That would be like Symantec buying out virus writters and making their antivirus software pointless.

If anything, they will probably start producing more spyware to get people to buy thier antispyware software. That way they are making money and spying on people... wait, they do that already.

Little Jonny: Rectum? Hell, it killed 'em.

  4. Yearly fees, AHHH!! on Linspire To Run Windows Games · · Score: 1, Insightful
Some games(MMORPGs) are already forcing the gamer to pay a montly/yearly fee(i.e. World of Warcraft, Everquest 2, etc...)to play, now in order to play a non-montly fee game (Doom 3, HL2) on my linux box, I'm forced to pay a yearly fee. So now I've went from paying a montly fee for just my MMORPGs to paying an additional yearly fee for all my games.

No thanks, I'll stick to my Windows box for gaming.

I could see $3 million being a little much for not taking down the pictures in time. But once it progressed into men showing up at her work for "sexual relations", that is going too far. In my mind she should be asking for more. It's Yahoo, they probably spend more money than that on TP for a year.

Yeah, I can't wait to move to Chaska in a couple of months to take advantage of the $17 wireless. I saw an article that Philladelphia is planning on installing a wireless system to cover the entire city, and they may provide it for free. Now that is a step in the right direction.

But if you only designed it to hold 10 tons, and it ends up holding 100 tons then I wouldn't call it a waste of resource. From what I can tell they only designed it to last for 250 days, but it may last much longer. To me that it engineering genius.

  17. Marriage and reproduction on OpEd Piece on Extended Life Expectancy · · Score: 3, Insightful

I looked through a few threads and didn't notice any comments on Marriage. It's hard enough these days to stay with the same partner for an extended period of time(10 years), how hard would it be to stay with them for 200 years!! I think marriage in gerneral would have less meaning than it does today. What would be the point to getting married? Heck, you could probably be married and devorced 50 times over your lifetime. It becomes more and more meaningless. What about reproduction. I have read threads about controling the population, like in China. That would take one heck of a global Governmental plan to control every human being on earth from reproducing. Heck, if your alive for 200-300 years, you wouldn't even need a doctor to deliver the baby, cause you could probably learn to do it yourself. It's part of human nature to want to reproduce to continue the flow of life. It would take some advanced evolution on our part to wipe this out of our system before the planet is consumed by people. Maybe we should consult some Elves on what to do!!
