    They're just entrenching Comcast as the sole ISP in those new areas and whatever ISP in the existing areas. It benefits nobody except the ISPs.

    Are you kidding? Conservatives have been oppressing and discriminating against gays, minorities and women since forever. Don't pretend like the right is some holy beacon of truth and fairness and love and compassion and tolerance. Quite the opposite. Palmer Luckey decided to support a misogynistic xenophobic piece of crap and surprise! people don't respect that. Nobody's forcing anyone to act a certain way but don't act like an asshole or support oppressive politicians if you can't take getting called out on it. The world doesn't need that shit anymore.

    Yes exactly, put up shut up. If they really meant it they would send every single customer a declaration in writing that they will never sell their data under penalty of some large monetary damage. I would love for someone in power to challenge them to do that.

    Omg, stfu. This is not fearmongering. There was a regulation. Whether or not you think it was a worthwhile regulation is another thing. ISPs are pieces of shit. Hell, telecom companies in general are pieces of shit which they have proved time and time again. Every regulation against them is a good thing, no matter how small. This was a case of corrupt politicians getting rid of a regulation that their financiers disapproved of.
