what a tremendous increase!
not only is the application speed increased, but i'm seeing an increase of SEVERAL HUNDRED PER CENT in terms of download times for the new release shortly after the story hit/.!:P
I'm not sure, but I wouldn't be surprised if the big N had a patent on this (think gba<->gcn).
To me, it seems as if Sony are just following Nintendo's lead, and are trying to reach into the handheld market.. to which I'll say "Good luck, Sirs".
However, when Mark Thomas goes
"Luke, I am your father", everyone'll be like "dude, get real. You're 20-something, you live with your mom, and you haven't even had a girlfriend. That is NOT your kid!"
Hmm.. I guess today's moderators don't know the old saying that the more off-topic a discussion goes, the chance that the discussion will include nazis grows proportionately

Desert combat and BF1942 are unique amoung shooters in that their maps are so immense, yet detailed. The engine developed for this game is called Refractor 2, and while not the prettiest of engines availble it is certainly the best performing large-scale engine. Desert Combat is also wildly popular, and rightly so; it's freaking so much fun.
Just wait until you've played BF: Vietnam buddy..
We've been having a preview of it here at work Monday and Tuesday night (and it'll continue for the rest of the week).
Now *that* is serious stuff.
Log-traps are great fun.. release some 10 - 12 spiked logs down a hill and watch them slam into an enemy tank rolling through the jungle..
Drop napalm from up high and watch your enemies die screaming..
I've still to figure out how to lift tanks with a chopper though, but I figure it'll be great fun:P
BF: Vietnam gives the engine some really nice updates (like dx 9 effects.. the water looks great.. as do the particle clouds that fly around when you're hovering near the ground with a chopper)
How about tacking on a little "not allowed to use computer systems" after the 2nd offense?
All three of them?
Oh I dunno.. :P

We regularly get idiots spamming proboard links on our forums.
That said, people who have problems with users spamming links should be contacting the *user's* upstream provider.. works like a charm!

Of course, the Cube is less than half the price of the PS2 over here, so blame them for trying to recoup some profit along the way, why don't you?
That'll be 'surprised' :P
