I have also found them to dumb down the old shows. But they just added Hak5 to their lineup. This show is great for advanced users. They really get technical with all things network, hacking, games,.... I also found the audio pod casts from Leo Leport to be good.
I lived in Ohio for the last 4 years and I have to say, their cable sucks across the board. However after our cable company was bought out by Time Warner we saw improvements right away:
We went from 4 HD channels to 20.
Instead of waiting up to 4 weeks for a tech, they would come that day or at most 72 hours later.
Our ondemand also gained lots of new free programming.
I think Ohio could have done worse, I just hope that Time Warner continues to make changes to the basic infrastructure throughout Ohio even if the competition has been weeded out for them.
But seriously, why would anyone want to live in Ohio anyway?
I was talking about legacy support. It would be silly for me to think that my 486 that I have sitting around can play Doom 3. However, Serial ports, Com ports, outdated printers, scanners, mice, keyboards, all the stuff that you have laying around should be able to work with an operating system. If it's not clear, white or brushed metal, Apple would like you to throw it out.
A few corrections: I typed Intel and it was supposed to be Microsoft. And it should have been Boxes, not bozes.
I don't really understand what Woz means by saying that her hopes intel becomes more like Apple. Would we really just want 1 kind of machine? Does he want Microsoft to only licence their software to hardware vendors that only make PC's that are white boxes? Does he want Microsoft to take out support for obsolete hardware everytime they upgrade their operating system? I mean innovation is one thing. But Microsoft already has shown that people don't really need pretty bozes; they want something that will mostly work with all their software and hardware that they have sitting around.
Do you know for a fact that you don't have spyware? I have seen many dialup connected computer with spyware and they didn't even know it. Broadband is better. Everyone can be secure if they just follow a few simple rules to surfing the web.
1) Don't download things unless you know what they do. 2) Get rid of IE 3) have a good virus scanner/spyware scanner
Staying on dialup is like saying that a bike is more reliable and therefore better than a car. Cars might break down every once in a while but if you need to get somewhere they're much better than bikes.
So I've seen 300 (1@ 6000 lumens http://ecom.mysylvania.com/sylvaniab2c/b2c/z_login.do;jsessionid=ID4002DB0.5994958202952388End;sapj2 ee_*=4002) and 500 watt double ended halogen bulbs for $5 at lowes and I'm wondering, what if you took 2 or 3 of these blubs and made your own housing for it with some mirrors and stuff like that. You would cut the cost of operating it like crazy and you'd have a really really bright light for it. Has anyone else thought of this and why didn't they?
P.S. sorry about the link?
How about this. Why not just throw out the rule books, tell everyone to work hard and make the same wage no matter what you do and then we can all go home to our 8x8 cubical in a highrise and take our drugs that are free and given out by the government. I also like that idea of saying that we should just "Make sure it's one where everyone has a genuine chance, which doesn't oppress you if you're poor/black/unlucky" and then we can all hold hands and form a circle, all while singing. As a poor college student who has $20 to my name I am really looking forward to leaving the bounds of college and my parents and try to work my way up through the ranks and become as successful as I want. (aka the American dream) I think that if we all just share everything equally and try to erase the past and start over we will run into more problems in the future like the aboloshment of our basic civil rights of free speach and maybe in the future being able to think something different than someone else.
I wonder if anyone took into account summer vacations. I know that most people go away to a cabin or some other place around here so has anyone compared the loss of traffic to the average decrease in site traffic over thoes weeks?
This was done over 15 years ago. Something called intermud for muds and moos and other such MMOs to talk to each other.

Just a little joke... I'm from Michigan. (Live in Germany now)

Err yes, I meant that. Just a misstype.

IT was the top news item in my google sidebar. I think the whole internet knows about it now;-)
Is there any way to help her? Maybe a fund for her legal team? Or just a place to send her well wishes?
I wonder if this guy is friends with the guys who did cold fusion?
How about offering a free glass of green beer at every showing? That would get people there.
If you added too many arms or something would microsoft be able to kill it like it does with activation and windows xp?

As long as it costs $40 for a game or $100 for software there will always be people pirating.
