    Unless you use javascript to change the colour, or a font tag, or CSS etc. There are a lot of ways around that kind of thing. You could put all the words in an "alt" attribute for an image, or a textarea too.

    The process for me obtaining broadband was a simple matter of:

    # call up an ISP.
    # Send me a modem.
    # online.

    This is greatly simplified, but that's the general deal. Sure some people have problems, but no system is perfect. To be honest that article belongs in a personal blog, it's rife with typo's and bad mistakes, and inaccuracies. /. Editors need to stop posting crap like this, and get back to the News For Nerds.

    I mean people say MSIE/Windows are more exploited because they are more "popular". I think that the rapid adoption, and soaring popularity, of Firefox is grabbing the attention of people who used to target IE exclusively.

    What collective anus do people pull these statistics from? How can this even be measured? Any computer purchase no doubt counts as a windows purchase, yet people immediately erase windows and install linux...

    In fact I'd wager almost all linux boxes were, at some point, windows boxes.

    I don't know about that. If you took someone who had never used a computer before and sat them in front of a fully featured linux distro, they would not find it any easier or any more difficult than windows.

    You only know what you learn.

    Yes but with more and more reputable people claiming windows is going under, games companies will have to start supporting the alternate oses sooner or later.

    . To some degree, what employers want is a trained workforce (as opposed to an educated one), and in that case it makes lots of sense to train them with the exact same tools they will be expected to use in employment.


    I agree, to a point, however schools are not training grounds, they are educational facilities to provide basic life skills. If an employer wants a trained workforce, they can get college/uni graduates or train them themselves.

    School is not meant to set you up in a job where certain skills are required, it's there to provide a basic foundation that you can build upon if you like.

    I'd wager it's more likely mum and dad's PC that is the cause of this, kids tend to be more technically aware than parents. Mum just want's to shop online and play bingo, dad just wants to ogle naked women of questionable virtue.

    While this is all well and good, it's useless while our justice system is a pathetic case of slapping on the wrist. People simply aren't afraid of British Prisons. My step-father is a prison officer, and these people have PLAYSTATION TWO's in their cells. Most prisoners will repeat offend without any fear whatsoever of going to prison.

    Cut the crap, and make prison the hell-hole it's meant to be, and extend sentences.

    Considering that piracy is absolutely rampant on the PC, the biggest of a small amount of platforms where it's easy to copy media into different formats. Piracy is almost non-existent on cartridge-based systems (besides emulators), but a problem with cd/dvd based systems.

    Sony makes a lot of money from development kits, royalties etc. They'd lose that if every muppet could develop a game/app for their platforms.

    Also you'd get a HUGE flood of shitty games (think windows shareware crap) in an uncontrolled development environment.

    This will make finding decent games a hundred times harder than it currently is (and it's hard enough now :/).

    I dunno if I made sense...

    ALA Final Fantasy, X-2 in particular. While this game is still not "quick" you can certainly complete it in a couple of days, but to get the full plot/satisfaction/etc you can go on and do more and more and more til you've completed it 100% (literally, there's a gauge on the save screen :P)

    Think of your favorite console game; has it crashed recently? Ever?

    Considering that the XBOX is known to crash into a "Green Screen of Death", and it's the only modern console crash I've heard of, this is still worrying :/.
