    It's better to draw the line at automatic weapons. Semi-automatic weapons are just plainly no more dangerous than simple bolt-action repeating rifles. But the types of people who ban guns are not the types of people who are knowledgeable about them anyway.

    No, no it doesn't. Treaties are secondary to the Constitution, and if the treaty contradicts the Constitution it's null and void just like any other law.

    Sedna and Pluto are both considered Kuiper Belt Objects. Pluto is considered a planet in addition to a Kuiper Belt Object. Sedna is not considered a planet.

    In reality, I'd say both are Kuiper Belt Objects, but not planets.

    What about that tenth planet we can never seem to pin down?

    As far as I know, the observed gravitational effects that astronomers had posited a tenth planet to explain, are now believed to be the result of the Kuiper Belt.

    No. No it can't. All that satellites can do is take very quick photographs as they fly over your position at 12,000 miles per hour.

    And geostationary satellites can't get a good enough level of resolution and detail.

    No, humans can think. If we reacted as dictated by our instincts we would be continually acting based upon our feelings and random urges. We have the freewill and thought processes needed to circumvent a lot of our immediate instincts.

    What's wrong with arguing against bulletproof vests with the fact that high velocity weapons penetrate them? If you're wearing body armor that does you no good, why not save the weight of the armor?

    I wonder if that's how Jobs, Woz, and Co. got their name? At very least, they must have known about the connotation. It seems kind of sick to me.

    Jobs used to work in an apple orchard. One time, in frustration over the ability of anyone at the company to come up with a name, he said, "I'm calling this company Apple Computer until someone can come up with a better name by the end of the day!"

    Pretty sickening that you have had to live under the occupation by "coalition forces" for so long. I wonder if this is what's in store for the Iraqis. I firmly believe that you should ask th U.N. to tell the American gov't to set aside some nice prime coastal real estate for the North American Indians. And why not not??? They did it for the Israelis. Your claims would be much more valid than their's were.

    Well, Canada did it for some of their natives.

    Many have, my ancestors included. Others are trapped by economic circumstances. Still other don't want their culture to die.

    or try to organize a better economic structure for their tribes. No one's forcing them to run things that way.

    Ah, another ignorant AC. Actually, the Bureau of Indian Affairs pretty much requires a planned economy for the tribes. A couple of tribes have gotten permission from the BIA to have a freer economy, and they have succeeded. But in general, the vast majority of tribes in this country are forced to have 5 year economic plans by the Bureau of Indian Affairs.

    The Marines have actually developed a combat system largely based on the martial arts. The goal of this program is not just being able to kick ass hand-to-hand, but also developing character and a warrior mindset. The Marines even have a simplified belt system that's been integrated into the cammo uniform.

    Actually, the 70's. "The Child" and possibly one other episode were reworked from scripts written for "Star Trek: Phase Two" which was a planned Trek series to take place on Kirk's Enterprise, as the cornerstone of a Paramount TV network. Paramount ditched on the network and the pilot episode of Phase Two was reworked into Star Trek: The Motion Picture (yielding Phase Two characters like Decker and Ilia that had to be killed off).

    Actually, those of Germanic descent were detained. There was an organization called the German-American Bund which was pro-Nazi during this period of time, so, perhaps moreso than the Japanese, there was an arguable risk from the German-American population that they may have collaborated with the enemy given the chance. This doesn't justify it, but it's a decent explanation.

    Remember that the White House is run by neoconservatives, and neocons became infamous in the 90's for opposing China and considering it a threat. There's a bit less of that since 9/11, but the neocons still don't love China. After all, China is a dictatorship whose government kills its people by the thousands.

    Remember, rockets for space and ballistic missiles for crushing your enemies are basically the same technology. The powers that be just might not want to collaborate with them on that technology.
